Flooding from the Uruguay River is a recurring challenge at Camp Paysandú. When the river rises, the current septic system is one of the first things affected, making it impossible to hold camps.

To prepare for future events like this one, Dan and Liz Thompson began designing an alternate septic system. And there’s reason to rejoice—God provided the funds needed to purchase all the materials for this project! 🙌

Dan spent several hours fabricating a trencher bucket for the tractor, and this week they began by digging the trench for the pipe.

In one of the photos, the red line shows the location of the current septic system, while the blue line shows where the new system will be installed.

Please pray for Dan and Liz as they continue this much-needed project and for God’s continued provision for the ministry at Camp Paysandú.

Throwback to the 1960s 📸

Missionary life looked a little different back then!

The first photo shows Uncle George Black with a wagon full of supplies to be loaded onto a boat for tent meetings in the Chiloé Islands.

The next two photos depict some cultural history. In the islands, local people would often carry passengers through the water to keep them dry. It was common for women to carry their fisherman husbands to and from the boat.

And yes... that last photo is Uncle George getting a ride to shore on someone's shoulders. 😂

Uncle George was one of GMSA's early missionaries, arriving in Chile in the 1940s. Looking through these old photos is a fun reminder of how much has changed over the years, and how the mission of sharing the gospel never has.

The need for prayer supporters is a .

Sergio and Andrea Duarte know the reality of ministry in 🇺🇾Uruguay: sharing the gospel in a place where many people have never considered spiritual things takes patience, perseverance, and dependence on the Lord.

When missionaries face discouragement, they need people back home who will “hold the rope” praying, encouraging, and reminding them that the work belongs to the Lord.

The results may not always be immediate, but God is always at work.

What a beautiful reminder that God’s glory won’t stay hidden forever. One day, all nations will see his majesty, and every knee will bow before the King of kings 👑

Until then, we have the privilege of sharing the blessed hope of the gospel with the world.

Trusting God’s timing is a ⏳

For Colby and Lisa Holmes, ministry sometimes meant faithfully serving without seeing immediate results. After visiting thousands of homes and sharing the Gospel, they experienced a season where they saw little visible fruit. 🚪

But God was still working. 🌱

In His timing, He opened doors they never could have opened themselves and brought fruit from places they never expected. Their story is a reminder that our responsibility is faithfulness, while the results belong to God. 🙏

🏕️ Camp Paysandú is getting ready to build a new six-unit cabin that will replace three aging cabins and expand year-round ministry opportunities. Groundbreaking is planned for September–October 2026, and we can't wait to see how God works!

The new building will include private bathrooms and be constructed with durable, energy-efficient materials that will serve campers for years to come.

🙏 By faith, the plans have been completed.
📏 By faith, the cabin site has been measured and marked.
💙 By faith, we're asking God to provide the remaining $19,400 needed.
🛠️ By faith, we're also trusting Him to raise up national and international work teams to help build.

Go wherever God leads.

Following God doesn’t always mean knowing every detail ahead of time. It means trusting the One who does. When we surrender our plans to Him, He can use our lives in ways we never imagined.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5–6

Wherever He leads, may we be willing to follow.

We love seeing how God is working through our short-term missionaries!

In Carmelo, Uruguay, the Protos put Courtney Wallace to work teaching at their first pre-adolescent meeting. 🇺🇾

Near Temuco, Chile, Sheldon Morrell has been helping with projects at William Strong Bible Seminary. 🇨🇱

Thank you both for your willingness to use your time and abilities to serve the Lord!

This past week a powerful storm system has swept across much of Chile, but the greatest devastation has been in the northern and central regions—areas that are accustomed to drought and receive very little rain. Flooding, high winds, and washed-out roads have left many families without homes, electricity, clean water, and basic services.

Our missionaries, Curtis and Diane Steward, serve in the Coquimbo area, which has been declared a disaster zone. While they are safe, they have endured days without power, internet, and running water, and many believers in their area have lost everything.

Please join us in praying:
🙏 For the families and churches in Coquimbo and La Serena who have been so deeply affected.
🙏 For those who have lost homes, possessions, and access to essential services.
🙏 For Curtis and Diane, and the other missionaries serving through these difficult circumstances.
🙏 That God would use this tragedy to draw many people to Christ and strengthen His church in Chile.
