Progress continues in Carmelo, Uruguay 🇺🇾 as the church enters phase 3 of their building project!

Mariano Proto shares that work is underway on the unfinished hallway area outside the auditorium. This space currently serves as a passageway to the classrooms and multipurpose room, but it is being developed with future growth in mind and will eventually become part of the auditorium itself.

Workers are currently strapping the walls, hanging drywall, and enclosing the ceiling to conceal the electrical and plumbing systems that serve the second-floor parsonage. 🔨🔧

We thank the Lord for His provision and for the faithful giving and prayers that make projects like this possible. Please continue praying for the ongoing growth of this local church as it seeks to reach people with the gospel.

What a wonderful evening of fellowship at the GMSA BBQ! 🍔

Hosted by our UK Council 🇬🇧 in partnership with the General Council, the event this past Friday brought together believers from churches across Northern Ireland to learn more about the ministry of GMSA and opportunities to be involved in reaching South America with the gospel. 🇨🇱🇦🇷🇺🇾

We are grateful for the many people who worked to make the evening possible—setting up, grilling, baking desserts, serving food, and cleaning up.

Guests heard reports from each of our field directors and a challenge from General Director Tom Gibbons. 📖

Thank you to everyone who attended and showed interest in the work. We are thankful for the opportunity to share together and encouraged by the many conversations and connections made.

Today marks a historic moment for GMSA, as UK Council meetings were held with General Council members in attendance for the first time ever. 🙌

These sessions are taking place in Northern Ireland , with representatives traveling from the United States, Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay to participate in this milestone gathering 🌍.

We’re grateful for the UK Council and their faithful, long-term commitment to encouraging, promoting, and advancing the work of GMSA.

Please pray that the Lord would raise up and send out missionaries from the United Kingdom through GMSA. 🙏

The General Council of GMSA is gathered in Northern Ireland this week for meetings hosted by the UK Council. 🇬🇧

Before meetings began, the group enjoyed a warm welcome and fellowship with local believers. Sunday included worship at Tobermore Baptist Church ⛪, where David Flinck shared a ministry report and Matt Postiff preached, followed by lunch with members of the church.

The council also enjoyed time at the homes of Daphne Hall, secretary of the UK Council, and Nigel, UK Director—whose surprise American flag 🇺🇸 gave the visitors from across the pond a good laugh!

On Monday morning, the group visited Giant’s Causeway 🌊 before attending to business in the afternoon.

As they gather at Rock House in Portstewart to pray, plan, and discuss the work of GMSA around the world, please pray for wisdom, unity, and fruitful discussions. 🙏

Meet Katie Lane!

Katie is a member of Beacon Baptist Church in Jupiter, Florida. She arrived in Montevideo, Uruguay 🇺🇾 yesterday to serve on a short-term missions trip over the next several weeks.

She will start off by joining church-planting missionaries Mariano and Becky Proto in Carmelo for ten days. Afterward, she will continue on to Chile 🇨🇱, where she will spend two weeks working with missionaries Dan and Becca Vallette at Camp Pirque.

Please pray for Katie. Pray for safe travels, meaningful relationships, and that the Lord would use these ministry opportunities to grow and stretch her faith.

Raising children in ministry is a

For Dan and Liz Thompson, it meant choosing to do it together. Rather than leaving their children on the sidelines, they invited them into the work. Along the way, their kids learned practical skills, developed a strong work ethic, and discovered the joy of doing things as “unto the Lord.” 🔨

How might you involve your own children in serving the Lord alongside you? The opportunities may look different for every family, but the impact can last a lifetime. ✨
