Most people don't think twice about how the things they use every day get from one side of the world to the other.

Today is a good reminder that none of it happens without seafarers.
Seafarers spend long days, and often months away from home, keeping the maritime industry moving.

At MPT, we have the privilege of training many of the people who go on to build careers at sea, so today we'd like to say thank you.

Happy Day of the Seafarer to everyone serving on the water. We appreciate everything you do. βš“

Before smartphone cameras and social media posts, there were tournament photos like these!

We found another batch of Billfish Tournament images in the MIASF archives, featuring anglers, crews, and some very proud catch photos.

A classic South Florida boating tradition and a fun reminder of how much our community has grown over the years.

Midweek Escapes with M 🌊

This week’s adventure took an unexpected turn.

While exploring South Florida, M met a local resident on land.

Fortunately, our digital media specialist is also a certified Lizard Wizard (yep, she talks to wildlifeβ€¦πŸ¦Ž)

One of the greatest opportunities we have as an industry is helping students discover the career pathways available throughout South Florida's marine sector.

DeAngelo Marine Exhaust, Inc. CEO and MIASF Board Member Justin Montes shares his perspective on the importance of career awareness, workforce development, and introducing the next generation to the many opportunities available across the marine industry.

From skilled trades and manufacturing to engineering, technology, yacht management, and beyond, Salty Jobs helps students discover careers they may have never known existed while connecting education and industry.

Thank you, Justin, for supporting workforce development and helping us inspire the next generation of marine industry professionals.

What is an MIASF Member Connect?

It's a chance to step away from the day-to-day and spend time with the people who make our industry what it is 🌊

Our last Member Connect at Allied Kitchen and Bath brought together familiar faces, new members, YSTAP apprentices, and business owners from across South Florida for an evening of networking and community.

Members toured Allied's beautiful two-story showroom, gathered around one of the showroom kitchens for a meal, and connected with one another throughout the evening. It was a setting that encouraged conversation and made everyone feel welcome.

We are grateful to the entire Allied Kitchen & Bath team for opening their doors and creating such a thoughtful experience for our members. From the chef-curated menu by Lenore Nolan Ryan to the details throughout the evening, their team put tremendous care into every aspect of the event.

During his remarks, owner and president of Allied Kitchen & Bath, Bill Feinberg spoke about the importance of people and the role they have played in the company's success for more than 40 years. Looking around the room, that message resonated.

One of the best parts of the evening was seeing YSTAP apprentices in attendance. As they connected with the people and companies that make up our community, it was a reminder that the future of our industry isn't years away. It's already here. For many of these apprentices, last night's event was more than a networking opportunity. It was a chance to experience firsthand the community they are a part of.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. The continued growth of our Member Connects reflects the strength of this community and the value of bringing people together. With new members joining us, longtime members staying engaged, and future industry leaders taking part, we are excited to continue building on that momentum.

This is what an MIASF Member Connect is all about 🌊
