A Place to Build a Foundation for Success

HANDY is a non-profit organization located in Broward County, Florida that strives to provide customized programs to at risk youth in need. HANDY’s mission is to achieve positive, lasting change for youth by providing life skills, education, and a supportive community. Programs offered include but are not limited to: tutoring, mentoring, social and recreational activities, education workshops, post-secondary educational support, and self-advocacy. Since 1985, HANDY has transformed the lives of over 50,000 youth and their perspective family members. As they transition through life, these youth gain the skills and confidence to become successful, empowered young adults.

Best Buy inspires people of all ages to connect, learn, innovate, and improve their lives. Across the country, many communities lack support and access to the tools and training that can unlock a better future and prepare youth for the challenges ahead.

HANDY and Best Buy have teamed up with The Clubhouse Network to bring a Teen Tech Center to Fort Lauderdale, connecting its members to a global community of over 100 clubhouses in 20 countries. The Best Buy Teen Tech Center at HANDY is a place where teens can develop critical skills through hands-on activities that explore their interests in programming, film-making, music production and design – working to bridge the digital divide by giving youth access to tech education opportunities, relationships that help to build confidence and success.
