We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. –Winston Churchill

Since 2011, Voices for Children of Broward County has served more than 4,000 young people through our programs. Voices is committed to leveling the playing field so that every child in the child welfare system has his or her basic life needs, essential education, and social experiences every child deserves, a

Guardian ad Litem volunteer to help guide his or her safe passage through the child welfare system, opportunities in which to prosper, and a successful journey into a healthy, stable, thriving life as an adult. Voices focuses exclusively on providing gap funding and programs solely for children who have an open and active dependency case in Broward County. Through our innovative programs and services – School Break Food Program; Dream BIG Days; financial resources for emergency and normalcy needs; and Guardian ad Litem volunteer recruitment, retention, and training programs – Voices for Children of Broward County works to provide the necessary resources and tools to lead a healthy, safe, and happy childhood.

🎣 A perfect day on the water!

This past weekend, we spent the morning deep-sea fishing through our Dream BIG Days program. The children we serve had the chance to try something new, catch fish, cheer each other on, and make memories along the way.

From snapper to an impressive amberjack, there was plenty of excitement, laughter, and celebration throughout the day.

A heartfelt thank you to Captain Bruce, Ned, and Ron from Starlight Fleet Florida for creating such an incredible experience, and to Rich and Jim for helping make this special day possible for the children we serve. πŸ’™

Tonight, we celebrated several youth we serve as they prepare for their next chapter. Milestones like graduation are a reminder of how far they have come and all that lies ahead.

Thank you to everyone who helps us show up for moments like these and reminds our youth that they have a community behind them every step of the way. ✨

June is National Reunification Month, a time to honor the resilience of families who have safely reunified after involvement with the child welfare or foster care system. It also recognizes the collaborative efforts of parents, caregivers, child welfare professionals, advocates, and the courts who help make reunification possible. πŸ’™

And this week, we celebrated a reunification, one of the most meaningful moments we have the privilege of witnessing. As this family begins a new chapter together, our Program Manager, Madeleen, helped mark the occasion with a special gift to celebrate family, connection, and new beginnings. 🧸✨

As we begin to wind down another meaningful event season, we were honored to attend ’s Annual Scholars Breakfast, a morning that beautifully celebrated resilience, achievement, and the incredible potential of young people throughout our community. πŸ’™

The stories shared throughout the morning were powerful reminders of what can happen when children and youth are surrounded by support, encouragement, opportunity, and people who believe in them.

Thank you to , , , , and the entire team for creating such an inspiring and impactful event. We are grateful to stand alongside organizations doing meaningful work to uplift and empower youth across South Florida.

The past few weeks have been filled with meaningful moments alongside organizations and leaders who are deeply important to both Voices and our community. πŸ’™

We were honored to support and celebrate our friends at Annual Starfish Evening of Impact, 33rd Annual Mother’s Day Luncheon, 2026 Prestigious Women Awards, Fun Lunch, and The Ripple Effect Gala.

Each event was a reminder of the compassion, leadership, and impact happening across our community. We are grateful to stand alongside so many incredible organizations and individuals making a difference across South Florida. π“‡ΌπŸŒΈπŸŒΊπŸ’ƒπŸ’§

Last week, we were honored to participate in the Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Symposium, joining a meaningful panel discussion alongside Quinton McGirt, President, JP SFL, and Dr. Elizabeth Edwards, School Social Worker, Broward Schools.

Grateful for the opportunity to be part of a conversation centered on how we can better support children and families through protective factors, strong relationships, and a shared commitment to prevention.

These conversations matter. When we come together, listen, and learn from one another, we strengthen our ability to show up for children in meaningful and lasting ways.

Thank you to everyone who made this important conversation possible. πŸ’™
