Friends of Hugh Taylor Birch State Park A non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve, conserve, enhance and promote Birch State Park through community support.

Annual Membership in the Friends of Birch State Park supports Friends efforts, education, events, programs, activities and projects within the Park. Keep in touch with the Park and the great work that the staff and volunteers carry out daily. Become involved in Special Committees dedicated to sustaining and conserving park amenities and features.

Friends of Birch State Park is a nonprofit organization that helps provide the resources needed to care for Hugh Taylor Birch State Park’s 180 acres of green space as Fort Lauderdale continues to grow.
We do that through private donations, grants, corporate sponsorships and community support—and Walk with Friends is one of the fun ways we bring our community together to help. 💚

September 26th-October 1st we’ll be experiencing King Tides at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park — and Mother Nature may be bringing a little extra water our way!
If you’re visiting the park, you may see water coming up and over the sides of the road, especially along the Intracoastal.
🚧🛢Please be prepared for possible temporary road closures or limited access depending on water levels. Use caution, allow a little extra time, before heading to the park.

Last week, Hugh Taylor Birch State Park was proud to serve as the host park for the District 5 CSO Meeting! 🌿
We welcomed representatives from seven Friends groups, along with their Park Managers and District staff, for a day of connection, collaboration and learning. Together, we discussed shared concerns, worked through individual challenges, exchanged ideas and received important department updates.
One of the greatest benefits of our CSO network is the opportunity to learn from one another and share ideas that help strengthen our parks and the communities we serve.
A special thank you to Heather Geronemus , Vice President of Belonging & Impact at UKG and Friends of Birch Board Member, for leading a great conversation on developing corporate partnerships and, just as importantly, how to grow and strengthen those relationships over time.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at Birch! We loved having the opportunity to host our fellow Friends groups and park partners. 💚🌴

Help Keep Birch Beautiful! 🌱
Hugh Taylor Birch State Park is proud to be part of the International Coastal Cleanup on Saturday, September 19, from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM.
The International Coastal Cleanup brings together more than one million volunteers around the world to remove trash from beaches, waterways, and natural areas—and you can be part of it right here in Fort Lauderdale. 💙
📍 Hugh Taylor Birch State Park
🗓️ Saturday, September 19
⏰ 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
When you arrive at the park gate, let park staff know you are here for the Coastal Cleanup. Park Admission is complimentary for volunteers!! Parking will be at the Hammock Lot, with registration at the picnic tables near the amphitheater
What to bring:
☀️ Hat & sunscreen
🧤 Gloves
💧 Water
🪣 A 5-gallon bucket, if you have one, instead of a single-use plastic bag
Every piece of litter we remove is one less piece that can make its way into our waterways and harm the wildlife that calls Birch home.
Grab a friend, bring the family, and come spend a Saturday morning giving back to the park we all love. 🌿
