With heavy hearts, we remember Brenda Gooden ’17H, whose 36 years as Pine Crest’s dance director shaped generations of dancers.

For so many alumni, the Palmer Dance Studio was a second home. Through classes, rehearsals and performances, Mrs. Gooden taught lessons that reached far beyond the stage: perseverance, optimism and the importance of making room for your passions.

Our hearts are with her family, friends and former students. We invite you to share a memory of Mrs. Gooden in the comments as we honor her lasting impact on Pine Crest.

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Ms. Ana Maria (Ani) McKee ’09H, whose boundless energy and joyful spirit touched generations of Pine Crest students.

During her 27 years at Pine Crest, Ms. McKee served as a teacher, chaplain, administrator and director of community service. Asked how she hoped to be remembered, she said, “That I worked hard at doing what God planned for me. And that I served with love.”

Our hearts are with her daughter, Alicia Palelis ’96, and the Sollosso and Pierson families. We invite alumni to share their memories of Ms. McKee in the comments as we remember a life dedicated to others.

We honor the life of Ms. Ana Maria McKee, a beloved Pine Crest educator, who dedicated her life to teaching and community service. Details on her legacy and memorial to follow.

Sometimes the people who help shape your path are sitting right beside you in class.

For photographer Josh Aronson ’12, classmates at Pine Crest helped introduce him to photography and encouraged him to pursue it. Experiences in PCTV and theater gave him more opportunities to explore his creativity — the beginning of a path that would eventually take his work around the world and into publications including Vogue, Financial Times and The New York Times.

In the latest issue of Pine Crest Magazine, Josh reflects on the friendships, experiences and creative freedom that helped shape the artist he is today.

Read “Life Through the Lens of Josh Aronson ’12.”

For Michael Lee ’72, Pine Crest was more than the school he attended. It was a place that shaped his life, gave him lifelong friendships and remained close to his heart for more than 50 years.

Known among his classmates as someone who brought people together, Mike was a driving force behind reunions and staying connected long after graduation. His gratitude for his Pine Crest experience ultimately inspired a legacy that will help make that experience possible for future generations of students.

We remember Mike and the lasting impact he made on the people and place he loved.
