HOPE South Florida

Today is World Homeless Day 🧡

When you picture homelessness, you might not picture a parent who works full time, or a child finishing homework in the back seat of the family car. But here in Broward County, more than 4,300 students are experiencing homelessness.

At HOPE South Florida, we walk alongside these families and remind them that homelessness is a life event, not a life story.

Work is underway on Homes of HOPE, four private units in Broward County where single mothers and their children can find stability after an unexpected setback.

Swipe through an ordinary day in a future Home of HOPE, and see how you can help turn a house into a home. A gift of $84 provides a shoe cabinet by the front door, and about $5,000 furnishes an entire home.

You belong here. You matter. You are worthy of hope. 💛

Some partnerships feel like family. 💙

A heartfelt thank you to our friends at Grace Wesleyan Church GEMS (Gracious Energetic Motivated Servers) team for loving on the newest members of the families we serve.

Their generous donation of newborn essentials is more than a gift, it’s a reminder that our families are surrounded by a community that truly cares. We are so grateful for the continued love and support of our Grace Wesleyan family, whose hearts for serving others continue to bless HOPE South Florida in so many ways.

Thank you, GEMS, for walking alongside us and helping us welcome these precious little ones with dignity, care, and hope. 💛👶

A surprise act of kindness can make all the difference. 💙

Today, Moricia from the Women’s Bible Study at Community Christian Church stopped by with a generous donation of hygiene essentials and food items for our families. We are so grateful for her heart to serve and support our community.

These donations will go directly to families in our Family Safe Overnight Parking Program, helping meet practical needs while reminding them they are seen, valued, and cared for.

Thank you, Moricia and Community Christian Church for being a blessing to HOPE South Florida and the families we serve. 💛

Camaraderie. Collaboration. Community. 🤝 That’s what AFP Fort Lauderdale/Broward County’s “Meet The Funders” event was all about and HOPE South Florida President Joseph Kenner was right there building those connections.

Shoutout to Kathleen Cannon (United Way Broward) and Shea S. Spencer (211 Broward, HOPE alum!) for being part of the day. 💙
