GCARA’S NEW DMR REPEATER IS ON THE AIR!

Great news for GCARA – our new Motorola SLR5700 DMR repeater has been installed and is now on the air!

A very special THANK YOU to Ricky Eaton, KD4HGR, for his work on the project, and to Eric Rodriguez, KF4LZA, for providing the new repeater to GCARA at a very favorable discounted price and for his assistance with the installation.

Their support helped make this important upgrade possible. Our new repeater gives GCARA a modern and reliable DMR system that will serve our members and the South Florida amateur radio community for years to come.

📻 Another Great Evening with Gold Coast Amateur Radio Association!

A big thank you to Alan Kline, KB1DJ, for joining us and giving an excellent presentation on his Emergency Communications Vehicle.

Alan took us through the development of his Jeep-based emergency communications vehicle and shared how he has practically integrated amateur radio equipment and other communications capabilities to support emergency communications in the field.

It was a fascinating look at how planning, equipment, ingenuity, and amateur radio can all come together when reliable communications are needed most.

The Gold Coast Amateur Radio Association has been fortunate to bring in some outstanding speakers who share their knowledge and experience on many different aspects of the amateur radio hobby.

Whether you’re interested in emergency communications, antennas, digital modes, contesting, equipment, or simply learning something new, there’s always more to discover in ham radio!

Guests are always welcome at our meetings, so come join us, meet fellow amateur radio operators, and see what GCARA is all about.
