Since the inception of our Chapter from Harriet Kaye, who served twelve terms as president, it has been filled with individuals who wish to pass on a legacy of freedom and democracy, which requires active, engaged citizens ready to accept the duties and challenges of self-government. The Broward County Chapter of the Freedoms Foundation is a not-for-profit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to ef

fectively communicating to all the principles upon which our Nation was founded, and the balance of rights and responsibilities of citizens. Broward County Chapter was established in 1973 and we are one of thirty chapters from around the United States. In 1978 we sent our 1st student to the Spirit of America Youth Leadership Conference and today we are sending 100 students. When the chapter was 1st established to raise money the founding members got together at someone’s house for the George Washington Cocktail Party. Today it has transformed to the George Washington Gala one of our biggest fundraising events of the year. Every year we strive to make a difference in every area of the chapter. We made such an impact that we were nominated 2014-2015 “Chapter of the Year” from National in Valley Forge.
