As recovery efforts begin at the Grey’s Ferry job site collapse for our fallen brothers, we ask that you continue to keep them and their families in your prayers. This unthinkable tragedy has devastated our local union and the families of both the victims and survivors. We’ve lost three loved and respected members of our 401 family and wait in anticipation to bring our Brothers home. This process has been slow and painstaking, but necessary due to the condition of the structure and the possibility for further collapse. We ask that you respect the authorities and agencies that are involved as they are trying to recover our Brothers as safely, dignified and respectfully as possible.
We invite members who would like to show solidarity and support for the victims , families, and the other members that witnessed this terrible tragedy to come to the job site as demolition begins.
This process will most likely take most of the day, so please be patient, vigilant, and strong.
An official memorial service will take place once the men have been safely recovered which will most likely be tomorrow. We will keep you informed of the details once they are formalized.
