About HDG Syamarani Dasi:
Syamarani Dasi, a master painter of Bhakti Art and teacher of bhakti-yoga, has gained recognition for her extensive body of 300+ devotional artworks. She is one of the earliest disciples of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, founder-acharya of ISKCON, and also received guidance from Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja.
Syamarani's artistic style is a fusion of Indian and Western art, incorporating influences from Renaissance painters like Rafael and Indian artists such as Banarji and the Brijbasi Company. In 1980, she expanded her art education by taking a course at The Institute of Art in Colorado, where she studied the seven elements and eleven principles of design and the ways in which masters communicated through art.
Alongside her artistic endeavors, Syamarani is a senior editor for Gaudiya Vedanta Publications and has been recognized for her efforts to spread the teachings of bhakti yoga, receiving a humanitarian award at the Bhakti-Fest in 2018. She has written two books, including her memoir The Art of Spiritual Life and Bhakti Art Illuminations, a compilation of her devotional art.
