Broward Bookworms provides FREE BOOKS to Broward County families with children between 0 to 5 years of age. Apply at: browardbookworms.org.

Families can sign up to receive new books in English, Spanish, and Creole, which also includes an activity guide.

Must be a Broward County Resident with a child 5 years old or younger. Limit two (2) bookworm book bundles per household.

Bookworms is funded and administered by the Early Learning Coalition of Broward County, The Division of Early Learning, Broward Reads, and Scholastic Books.

🎒✨ Enroll Your 4-Year-Old in FREE Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK)! ✨🎒
It’s time to register your child for Florida’s FREE Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program for the 2026–2027 school year—available to eligible Broward County families!

📚 Choose Your Program Option:
🗓️ School-Year VPK: Starts August 2026 (540 instructional hours)
☀️ Summer VPK: Starts June 2027 (300 instructional hours)

⏰ Note: The school-year VPK voucher generally covers about 3 hours per day. Any additional hours are not covered—be sure to ask providers about their schedules and costs.

✅ 3 Simple Steps to Enroll:
1️⃣ Log In to your Family Portal (or create an account): https://familyservices.floridaearlylearning.com
2️⃣ Apply and upload required documents: elcbroward.org/vpk
3️⃣ Choose a provider and submit your VPK certificate

Happy ! When your 4-year-old changes their behavior based on their location, they are demonstrating an important developmental skill: understanding that different places have different expectations. This milestone:
🌻 Builds self-regulation by learning to adjust their behavior instead of acting the same way everywhere.
🌻 Develops social awareness as they begin to recognize how their actions affect the people around them.
🌻 Supports following rules as they understand that a library may require quiet voices while a playground allows louder, more active play.
If you have any questions about your child’s development, talk to your child's pediatrician or contact a Help Me Grow care coordinator at helpmegrowfl.org/connect-with-a-care-coordinator/ who will be able to connect you to necessary resources.
