We are saddened to share the news that Cliff Berry, Sr., founder of Cliff Berry, Inc. and a longtime friend and sponsor of Fleet Week Port Everglades, passed away on Oct. 2 at the age of 93. Our thoughts are with the Berry family. More information about services can be found in the post below.

We are saddened to share the news that Port Everglades icon Cliff Berry Sr., founder of Cliff Berry, Inc., passed away last night at the age of 93. Not only was Cliff a dear friend and supporter of our port’s growth, he was a transformative leader and the genius behind the petroleum offloading manifold system that is still in use today at Port Everglades. Thank you to Seafarers' House for sharing this photo of Cliff with his son Cliff Berry, II, who continues to lead the company into its 65th successful year at Port Everglades.

Here is more from Patrick Collins, president of the Port Everglades Association and COO of Cliff Berry, Inc.

With a heavy heart, we’re sharing that Cliff Berry Sr. passed away last night at the age of 93. Since beginning his career with Pacific Molasses in Port Everglades in 1950, to founding Cliff Berry, Inc. in 1958, he grew the Fort Lauderdale-based family company into an internationally recognized provider of comprehensive environmental services.

He genuinely dedicated his life to the Port Everglades’ maritime community, including such worthy causes as the Seafarers’ House, Trinity Lutheran Church, and was a longtime officer and board member (1979) of Port Everglades Association, which in 2020 recognized him with its Lifetime Achievement Award.

Cliff Berry Sr. was a true pillar and titan of the Fort Lauderdale and Port Everglades community. He will be truly missed by the generations of people and lives he touched.

Please join me in keeping the Berry family in your thoughts and prayers.
