A little late posting, but the gratitude is still right on time! 🙌🏾❤️🎓

A heartfelt THANK YOU to **New Mount Olive Baptist Church**, **Pastor Marcus D. Davidson**, and the entire NMOBC family for welcoming **UNCF South Florida** with so much LOVE during your wonderful **HBCU Sunday service!**

What a joy to celebrate faith, education, HBCU pride, and the power of community and to recognize **First Lady Yvokia Davidson on her appointment to the UNCF South Florida Leadership Council!** 🎉 We’re thrilled to have her voice, heart, and leadership supporting our mission of helping students get to and through college.

NMOBC, thank you for embracing this mission and reminding us what’s possible when the church and community come together. Here’s to brighter futures and more doors of opportunity opening for our students! ✨

Friends, I want y’all to meet Justin Mercado. 🎓
Justin is a first-generation college student from Puerto Rico, a sophomore Biology major at Florida Memorial University, and carrying an incredible 3.97 GPA. After talking with Justin about his journey, I was reminded that sometimes the mission has a name and a story.

When you invest in UNCF, you’re investing in students like Justin who are working hard to get to and through college.

This is why we do what we do. ❤️

Today, UNCF pauses to honor our Jewish brothers and sisters observing Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement—a sacred time of reflection, repentance, forgiveness and renewal. At UNCF, we believe in the power of community and in honoring the faiths, traditions and experiences that enrich the communities we serve.

To our Jewish students, alumni, partners, supporters, colleagues and friends: May this sacred day bring peace to your heart, renewal to your spirit, and hope for a brighter tomorrow for you and your loved ones.

G’mar Chatima Tova — may you be sealed for a good year.

From all of us at UNCF, we wish you a meaningful and peaceful Yom Kippur. ✡️💙

Yesterday was BIG for Miami, Florida, our HBCUs and UNCF! 🎓

Grateful to witness Florida Memorial University and FAMU join forces to create stronger pathways to doctoral education, research and leadership. This is bigger than a degree, it’s about preparing the next generation of scholars, researchers, innovators and leaders who will pour their knowledge and talent back into our communities.

And one of the best parts? Connecting with FMU students and seeing firsthand the talent, energy and brilliance already on campus.
Congratulations to President William C. McCormick, Jr., President Marva B. Johnson, J.D., and both university communities on this exciting partnership.

Two Florida HBCUs. One powerful pipeline. More doors opening. BIG possibilities ahead!

South Florida, we’re walking with PURPOSE! 👟🎓
There was a time when an entire community helped send a young person to college. Family gave. Churches rallied. Teachers encouraged. Businesses invested. Neighbors showed up.
That spirit of community is still alive and on November 6, we’re bringing it to Miami Gardens!
Join UNCF South Florida for our Walk for Education: Ignite the Night at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex.
We’re bringing generations together to support HBCUs and students in need and to remind our young people that their community is standing behind them.
Bring the family. Call your classmates. Rally your church. Get your coworkers together. Rep your HBCU. Challenge your fraternity or sorority. Build a team and WALK!
