Our Story
Started in 2005 as a small fundraising fun run event, the Fort Knox Run for the Red has evolved over the past 15 years to become the largest running event on Fort Knox and one of the largest 5K and 10K races in the region. Every year, nearly 1,000 runners and walkers from across all 50 states, four U.S territories, and several foreign countries descend on the Fort Knox Post Exchange to toe the start line and support the Fort Knox American Red Cross chapter during their only yearly fundraising event. With the community’s continued support for this event, the Red Cross can continue to provide the programs and services that support the service members, veterans, and their families here at Fort Knox and across the region.
