Hello AUSA FT. Knox chapter. I am D.W. Grimm. What a tremendous honor it is to be your next Executive VP for this chapter. I am excited to help our President and the rest of the outstanding Leadership to propel this chapter into the future. I will work tirelessly to support you and our mission. Please don't hesitate to reach out with ideas, changes, suggestions or anything. Together we all get stronger.

My ask of you;
1. Participate. Please come and see what we are doing and what we have going on. We are only as strong as our members. Stay informed.

2. Tell your story. If you are / were military, family member, supporter, community partner or just a fan please tell your story. Speak fondly of our military and our mission.

3. Tell our (AUSA) story. Let the world know who we are and what we do.

4. Share the experience. Bring a friend, colleague, or a stranger. Let's grow.

The above four things are how we will make a positive impact for our Soldiers, Families, Community, Army and our Country. I look forward to meeting all of you in person.

📣 BIG NEWS from the Fort Knox Chapter of AUSA! 📣

Chapter President Keri Anne Smialek is proud to announce the election of D. W. Grimm as our Executive Vice-President!

Some people call it leadership.
Some people call it strategic planning.
We simply call it… the Master Plan.

We've added D.W. to an Executive Board that is already gaining momentum, and now our Chapter has what many in the community already know as "THE Power Couple of Fort Knox" in its ranks. Together, we are going to continue building one of the strongest, most active, and most impactful Chapters in all of the Association of the United States Army.

Big goals require great people. Great Chapters require leaders who care deeply about Soldiers, Families, Civilians, and community. If that describes you, don't just sit on the sidelines! NOW is the time to with your AUSA-Fort Knox Chapter.

The Association of the United States Army (AUSA) proudly announces its official America's Birthday Writing & Artwork Contest in celebration of the America’s 250th Birthday.


Purpose and Impact
This contest is a meaningful way to celebrate America's 250th Birthday by connecting students and the general public to the American legacy. Through creative storytelling and traditional artwork, participants honor the values of service, sacrifice, and leadership, while offering a personal lens into America’s continuing impact on their lives and communities.

Contest Theme and Submission Requirements
Participants are asked to submit a 150-word message along with a piece of traditional (non-digital) artwork that reflects their unique connection to the United States of America. Submissions must align with the official theme: “My Country, My Story”

Accepted forms of traditional artwork include:

Drawing (pencil, charcoal, ink)
Painting (watercolor, oil, acrylic)
Mixed media (collage, prints, etc.)
Note: Digital artwork will not be accepted under any circumstances.


Award and Recognition (One Per Group)
$100 gift card
Certificate of Recognition
Featured in a Social Media Post
Recognition on Army Matters Podcast
Recognition during the AUSA Annual Meeting, with 40K attendees
Eligibility and Grouping
The contest is open to students from kindergarten through undergraduate as well as the general public. Submissions will be evaluated within the following brackets to ensure fairness:

Kindergarten–1st Grade
2nd–3rd Grade
4th–5th Grade
6th–8th Grade
9th–12th Grade
Undergraduate Students
General Public
All participants must clearly include their current level when submitting their work.


Contest Timeline
This contest will open on February 23, 2026, and the submission period will close on August 8, 2026. Judging will follow, and winners will be officially announced by October 1, 2026.

Full Name (First and Last)
Grade Level or General Public
Contact Information (email address and phone number)
Participants should scan their artwork or take a clear, well-lit photo of it, and submit it along with their writing portion via email to:
