Kids Art Camp: Animals
Ages 7-9

July 6-10
1:30-4:00pm
$75 for the week

Join us for a week of Art Camp focused on ANIMALS! We will meet at Rivertown every day from 1:30 to 4:00pm and get creative in a wide variety of art forms in workshops taught by certified instructors and local artists.

We’ll learn how to draw fourteen different creatures starting with one shape - the circle! - and how to paint animals such as foxes and bears. We will also make 3D animals out of polymer clay and paper mache!

Registration is required and space is limited to 10 campers. The cost is $75 for the full week, all materials are included. A non-refundable deposit of $25 is due upon registration. The remaining $50 is due on the first day of camp.

Kids Art Camp: Inspired By Nature
Ages 9-12

Join us for a week of Art Camp focused on all things NATURE! We surveyed campers during our April vacation Art Camp about what they’d like to do at future Art Camps and most of them wrote in “Nature Art.” So here we are!

We will meet at Rivertown every day from 1:30 to 4:00pm and get creative in a wide variety of art forms in workshops taught by certified instructors and local artists, along with taking daily nature walks on the trail behind McDonald’s (if it’s nice out).

We’ll draw and paint nature studies of bugs (beetles, butterflies), play with sunprints, make light-up faerie houses out of polymer clay and animals out of paper mache!

Registration is required and space is limited to 10 campers. The cost is $75 for the full week, all materials are included. A non-refundable deposit of $25 is due upon registration. The remaining $50 is due on the first day of camp.

Please be advised that there is information posted on Facebook about our upcoming Flea Market being a scam. It is NOT a scam! We posted about the event and shared that post to the Friends of St. Francis group. An individual commented that they were interested in getting a table for the Flea Market, and another individual, not associated with us in any way (we've never heard of this person) targeted them and scammed them out of $30.

Scammers are part of the dark side of social media. We simply posted about an upcoming event and they jumped on it. We are not in the business of harming the community members we work so hard to serve. It's upsetting to us that, not only did a local community member lose $30, a fraudster made $30 while casting negativity on us and our event, even though we had nothing to do with it.

The Flea Market is a fundraiser, intended to give local community members an opportunity to sell some items without having to run their own garage sale, or occupy a table at a vendor market during a precious summer weekend. We charged $10 for a table, and make a commission of 25% on sales. These funds go directly to supporting our programming for the upcoming months. We are a volunteer-operated, non-profit community-driven organization.

Whenever someone needs to pay for something, we either send them a Square payment link or send them directly to our website. This scammer told the local community member to pay using Chime. We will never ask you to pay for anything using Chime. If a page or profile on Facebook contacts you about anything related to Rivertown Community Arts Center, and it is not our profile or page contacting you, please reach out with us to let us know via Facebook or by calling 207 231 2711.
