This past week, the Fort Hood Sergeant Audie Murphy Club members and candidates had the opportunity to spend time with the incredible students and staff at Audie Murphy Middle School!

Our members spent the week giving back to the school and investing in the next generation helping with Picture Day, spending time with students, and assisting with the school’s essay writing contest.

We are blessed and honored to continue the legacy of Audie Murphy by serving our community and investing in our youth.

Today, members of the Fort Hood Sergeant Audie Murphy Club (SAMC) had the privilege of supporting the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Central Texas Chapter during their 6th Annual Indoor Car Show!

Our SAMC members were blessed with the opportunity to volunteer alongside an organization that continually gives back to our Soldiers, Families, and the Central Texas community.
AUSA does so much to support our military community, and we are grateful for every opportunity to return that support by, serving alongside our community partners, and giving back.

Last week, SAMA Candidates SSG Thompson and SGT Murphy took on the final phase of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Award Board.
After weeks of preparation, countless hours of studying, rehearsing, and pushing themselves to be better NCOs, both candidates stepped up to the challenge and represented themselves and their organizations with pride.

Their hard work, dedication, and commitment paid off as both SSG Thompson and SGT Murphy were selected for the Sergeant Audie Murphy Award!
The SAMA is more than an award, it represents a commitment to leadership, service, and living up to the example set by Sergeant Audie Murphy.
Congratulations to both of you! Your hard work earned this moment, and we are proud to welcome you into the Fort Hood Sergeant Audie Murphy Club!

Yesterday, members and candidates of the Fort Hood Sergeant Audie Murphy Club came together during our monthly H2F session to honor the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, with a 9/11 Remembrance Stair Climb.

Each step served as a reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and resilience displayed by so many that day.

We climbed together. We remembered together. And we honored those who never made it home.

We will never forget

As leaders, it's our responsibility to set the example, not only by leading Soldiers, but by taking care of the place where we live, work, and serve. Keeping The Great Place great, welcoming, and beautiful is a reflection of the pride we have in Fort Hood and the Army profession.

This morning, members and candidates came together for our monthly H2F session as we took on the Impossible Mile, a workout that truly lived up to its name. It pushed everyone both physically and mentally, reminding us that growth happens when we embrace challenges and refuse to quit. Every participant demonstrated resilience, determination, and the warrior spirit that defines our profession.

Following the workout, we held our monthly SAMC meeting, where members discussed upcoming events, community outreach opportunities, candidate development, and ways to continue strengthening our chapter and our impact across the Fort Hood community.

A sincere thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and continues to invest in making our chapter stronger. Whether you're a longtime member, a candidate, or someone interested in joining, we encourage you to come out and be part of what we're building.

This past Thursday marked a bittersweet moment for the Fort Hood Sergeant Audie Murphy Club as we said farewell to one of our longtime members, SFC Joshua Travis. Throughout his time with our chapter, SFC Travis exemplified the values of leadership, selfless service, and professionalism. As a former Chapter President, he played an instrumental role in strengthening our organization, mentoring countless NCOs, and leaving a lasting impact on both our members and the community we serve. While we are saddened to see him leave the chapter, we are excited to watch him begin this next chapter of his Army career as a Drill Sergeant. There is no doubt that future generations of Soldiers will benefit from his experience, dedication, and unwavering commitment to excellence. From all of us at the Fort Hood Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, thank you for your service, your leadership, and your friendship. We wish you and your family nothing but success in this new assignment.
