Enjoying a day with the family we have here at Servant Ministries and their families at Valle Dorado Water Park.
We’re missing a few members, but what a blessing it is to share fun experiences together outside of the daily work of ministry.
Team building and genuine fellowship are such an important part of serving together. ❤️

⭐ Note from Founder Nancy Sheldon:
Over the past few weeks, Nancy has been traveling throughout the southern U.S. for fundraising, ministry meetings, medical appointments, and future planning for Servant Ministries.
During this time, new sponsors and ministry support have been secured, school outreach supplies have been shipped, and leadership meetings have helped prepare for the next season of ministry. Nancy has also continued working alongside her daughter, Julie, in ministry financial and organizational transition efforts.
As Servant Ministries moves forward into this new chapter, we appreciate your continued prayers for wisdom, provision, health, and open doors.

Please note: ministry updates will continue here, while Nancy will share personal updates on her personal page (Nancy Sheldon).

In many mountain villages of Guatemala, children often stop attending school around ages 11–13 because of poverty, lack of transportation, and the need to help support their families. For some children, simply having school supplies is what makes attending school possible. 🇬🇹📚

Through the School Sponsorship Project with Servant Ministries, nearly 12,000 children in 89 mountain village schools received school supplies this year—many of them the first in their family to learn to read.

For just $6.50, you can provide a child with school supplies for an entire year and help bring hope, education, and the love of Christ to remote villages.

We are already preparing for 2027 with a goal of reaching 13,000 children!

What a week we have had here at Servant Ministries.
Over the last year, Nancy’s daughter Julie has been helping the ministry strengthen our financial organization, and this past week she came down to help the team continue implementing QuickBooks. Together they worked on training, organizing, and building systems that will help the ministry operate more efficiently moving forward. We are so grateful for the time and knowledge she poured into the staff here, knowing she has had years of experience. Shout out to Sheldon Solutions for letting us borrow her 😉
Sadly, we ended the week learning of the passing of one of the precious little girls in the Embrace Sponsorship Program. She had severe special needs and seizures and, according to her mother, passed away yesterday in her mountain village home after complications from prolonged seizures. She was only 6 years old.
Through the sponsorship program, she had been receiving physical therapy and was learning to walk.
In Guatemala, especially in remote villages, children face far greater risks from medical complications due to limited access to emergency care, medications, and specialists. The child mortality rate here remains significantly higher than in the United States, particularly among vulnerable children suffering from disabilities and malnutrition.
Please pray for her family as they grieve this heartbreaking loss.
These candid photos are a reminder of why we do what we do. Our prayer is to show these children and families the love of Christ and share the hope of the Gospel as we see them each week, knowing we aren't guaranteed tomorrow ❤️

Yesterday, 36 eco-stoves arrived here at Servant Ministries thanks to the incredible generosity of Mission In Action Healing Lives and an Embrace Sponsor. These stoves will soon be placed in the homes of precious families here in Guatemala, bringing safer kitchens, cleaner air, and practical daily support. Thank you for showing the love of Jesus and helping improve the quality of life for so many families. God bless you! ❤️
Eco-stoves do more than cook meals—they can change lives. 🔥➡️💨
By venting smoke outside and using less firewood, eco-stoves help:
• Reduce lung and eye problems
• Create safer kitchens for children
• Cut wood use by up to 70%
• Save families time and money
• Protect local forests
Cleaner air. Faster cooking. Healthier homes. 🌿🏡

Here at Servant Ministries, our medical clinic is a resource for the surrounding community, meeting both physical needs and offering compassionate, Christ-centered care. Ana, our dedicated nurse, along with Miriam who assists with bookkeeping and patient coordination, faithfully serve each week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Clinic services include general medical care, check-ups, and basic vision screenings—all provided for a minimal fee of just 20 quetzales (a little less than $3 USD). In addition to consultations, patients receive necessary medications at no cost, helping remove a significant barrier to healthcare for many families who would otherwise go without treatment.
Beyond the clinic, Servant Ministries is committed to caring for the most vulnerable. We are currently supporting 33 babies each month through our milk program, providing essential formula to families in need. This program plays a critical role in ensuring proper nutrition during the earliest and most important stages of life.
If you feel led to partner with us in supporting the milk program, donations can be made by check:
