Pilots for Christ of Maryland
2026 Youth Day Event

July 18, 2026
Under cloudy skies and rising summer temperatures, the members of Pilots for Christ of Maryland assembled at the Fort Meade Executive Airport (formerly Tipton Airport) to host the 5th annual Youth Day event. This event was created to introduce the community to the activities of PFC in its mission of mercy and compassion, as expressed by our Lord Jesus Christ, by providing free air transport for the sick and needy and the development of our Youth Mentorship program that inspires youth ages 12-18 through aviation and faith-based education, cultivating moral integrity, leadership, and purpose while introducing them to the world of flight.
After the tents and exhibits were set up, the members gathered to open the event in prayer and give thanks to our Lord, Jesus Christ, for the honor of serving in his name. Afterwards, Chief Pilot Todd O’Brian gave the final approval for flight operations, and the event was officially opened.
Parents and children arrived and checked in for their opportunity to experience a flight around the airport with pilots Todd, Marty, and Dusty. While they were waiting, they visited the activity tents, especially the grab bag tarp and the Radio-Controlled Aircraft exhibits, and were able to learn about the RC community from the controller pilots. It was a wonderful experience to see the joy and happiness of all in attendance and the fellowship that we all shared.
