NSA Annapolis Campout - Camping Merit Badge & Scout Rank Requirements

It is a "divide and conquer" kind of weekend. While some of our scouts were teaching others what Scouts is all about at the Meade Cluster Event, and some of our scouts are performing Den Chief duties at the Pack 377 campout, these two represented Troop 277 at the Clean Up Fort Meade event sponsored by the Fort Meade Spouses Club. They collected 12 bags of trash from around post and tied with the Fort Meade Girl Scouts for the youth organization that collected the most trash earning them a $200 grant. Great job scouts and thank you Fort Meade Spouses Club, we are always ready to help out our fellow Fort Meade organizations.

We had pretty successful recruiting at the Fort Meade Cluster event. We taught lots of interested kids about knot tying, camping, merit badges, and how to locate a Pack or Troop. Thank you River Hawk District BSA for the Scout swag.

Our scouts attended the 1st annual River Hawk Distict Camporee. There were lots of activities, including: axe throwing, bows & arrow, slingshot, geocaching, first aid, and many more. Three of our scouts assisted the District Chaplain in delivering his service. We look forward to next years Camporee!

Here is the information for Camporee. We are asking that new Scouts please bring their packing list to the meeting on 17 March so we can ensure they’re prepared. The packing list is available in the link.

Camporee is 24-26 March.
