The Sierra Grande High School Scholarship Foundation is honored to recognize the Community Foundation of the San Luis Valley for its generous $6,000 contribution toward our 2026 fundraising goal of $15,000.

This meaningful gift was pledged by Community Foundation of the San Luis Valley Executive Director Jason Medina in memory of respected community advocate Patricia Lucero, who tragically lost her life in an automobile accident in December 2016. Her legacy of service and dedication to the San Luis Valley continues to inspire and uplift our community.

“Both Foundations are deeply honored to help carry forward Pat’s legacy by supporting the educational dreams of Sierra Grande High School graduates,” said Sierra Grande High School Scholarship Foundation President Walter Roybal. “Through these scholarships, her impact will continue to be felt for generations to come.”

The Sierra Grande High School Scholarship Foundation awards competitive scholarships that empower students to pursue higher education and build brighter futures. As an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Foundation operates separately from the school district and relies on the generosity of donors throughout the year..
