Army Transportation Museum Foundation

Army Transportation Museum Foundation Eustis, VA. Foundation Background

The Army Transportation Museum has been in existence since 1959. A marine park was added in 1984, and watercraft added.

ATMF supplements resources from the Center for Military History for daily operations and is the main source of funding for capital improvements for the Army Transportation Museum at Ft. Today's Army Transporters face a growing threat to the Nation, to the Corps, and to our historical legacy but the power of connection to the past can inform the present and the future. The Army Transportation Museu

m offers a unique touchpoint for Army and Community Leaders to train, educate, and build that connection through keeping Army Transportation history alive and available to all. Its first quarters were an unheated warehouse and a half-acre that combined displays and parking. The Foundation was established and built a museum building in 1976. The warehouse was demolished to accommodate expansion and for more outside displays. The Foundation built the aviation pavilion in 1987, and aircraft were added. In 1993, the cargo yard and trucks were added. In 1999, the old WW II warehouse was demolished, and new warehouse faculties were assigned. Today the museum sits on over 5 acres of land with a 45,000 square foot museum, a 25,000 square foot aviation pavilion, a 16,500 square foot truck pavilion, an outside marine park, and a rail yard covered by a 45,000 square foot pavilion. The museum has a historical display a Fort Leonard Wood to educate 88M (truck driver) Advanced Individual Training (AIT) students and a pavilion at Fort Gregg-Adams to educate the Transportation personnel and students there. The Foundation has been an essential part of each expansion effort, enabling an enriched Transportation Museum experience. Vision

Our vision is that Army Transportation heritage is communicated to the Soldiers, family members and the public as an integral part of the American story and that preservation and educating the public on its history is essential to promote a vibrant and healthy Transportation Corps. Mission

The Foundation's mission is to build recognition and support for the extraordinary and dynamic value of the U.S. Army Transportation Museum and to assist the museum in preservation and education of the public through raising and providing funds for Museum capital improvement projects.

The Army Transportation Museum Foundation (ATMF) is at a critical crossroads, and we need the support of the entire Transportation Corps community.
For years, ATMF membership numbers appeared strong, but after updating our records, we discovered that only about 1,400 members can still be contacted, and fewer than 750 have donated within the last five years. Donations have steadily declined, dropping from over $108,000 in 2023 to less than $70,000 in 2025. Last year alone, the Foundation operated at a loss and was forced to draw from its investment portfolio to cover expenses.
At the same time, the Army Transportation Museum continues to face significant challenges. Museum staffing has been reduced, public access has been cut to only two days per week, and critical maintenance and infrastructure needs remain unfunded. Despite its importance to our Corps history and heritage, the museum receives no direct funding for these needs.
The reality is simple: if the Transportation community does not step up, the future of both the Foundation and the Museum becomes increasingly uncertain.
We need your help. Become a member. Renew your support. Encourage fellow transporters, veterans, retirees, National Guard, and Reserve Soldiers to join. Attend fundraising events, purchase Foundation merchandise, and most importantly, make a donation if you are able.
The Army Transportation Museum preserves the legacy of generations of transportation professionals who answered the nation's call. That legacy deserves our support.
If our history matters to you, now is the time to get involved. - ATMF Social Media Director, Ralph C Boyd Jr. , MSG, US Army.🫡🇺🇸

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave everything in defense of our country. Memorial Day is not about celebration- it's about remembrance. We carry the legacy of the fallen in our hearts, and we owe our freedom to their sacrifice. May we live each day in a way that honors their courage, their service, and their ultimate gift. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

It’s almost Memorial Day weekend.
The grills will light.
The lakes will fill.
Kids will run barefoot through the grass while flags wave quietly in the wind.

But before the sales, the beach trips, the long weekend plans…
remember somebody’s son never came home.
Somebody’s husband missed every summer after.
Somebody’s mama folded a flag instead of hugging her child again.

Freedom has always had a cost.
And this weekend, while we enjoy the beauty of ordinary life,
may we never forget the people who gave theirs so we still could. 🇺🇸
