It has been nearly five months since our good friend, investigator and co-founder of Fort Edward Paranormal Investigations and Rogers Island Paranormal Investigations & Research, John Lemery passed into the spirit world. We miss him every day, but know he is never far away.

We have spent time thinking about whether to continue this page for all who knew John and his interest in the paranormal. We wanted to describe Johns passion for seeking answers to the unexplained. All those things we see, hear or feel when nothing seems to make sense. John had several experiences (especially as a Funeral Director) which led him to seek others who had paranormal experiences. He was very interested in their personal stories and how each perceived that experience.

John photographed and recorded some interesting oddities including orbs (usually a circle or streaks of light, possible visible evidence of spirits) and disembodied voices (speech lacking a physical source). We had many conversations about numerous theories trying to understand the why and how, all of which were very interesting and very possible. As John spoke of the paranormal with people of all ages and background he discovered many of us seek an explanation to that which (so far) has not been scientifically proven.

We believe John will continue to seek answers on the other side and we will continue to seek John. Our journey is ongoing!

We will resume our investigation into the paranormal and post any findings on the Fort Edward and Rogers Island pages in memory of our very special friend and investigator John.

Thank you to all who have inquired about our sites. We invite you to check back on this page and Fort Edward Paranormal Investigations.

Tip of the Week:

Get Permission
If you’re investigating on private property always obtain permission from the owner to do your investigation. You will be trespassing if you don’t, and if you cause damage to the property, you will be liable. If you have to use bolt cutters to get into your location, you’re doing it wrong! It’s not worth the risk. It might look like the old abandoned hotel is safe, but you don’t know about hidden hazards that could hurt or even kill you. If you want to get started quickly, investigate a public park or other public location where ghosts have been sighted or reported. Just be sure to respect the property, do no damage, and leave nothing behind.

Tip of the Week:

Don’t ask yes or no questions. When it comes to getting recorded audio of ghost responses, it’s important that you try and get full sentences out of the spirits. “Yes and no can be misconstrued as mechanical noises or a quick inhaled breath. A full sentence is a lot harder to discount.

What is a Ghost?

A ghost - or spirit or apparition - is thought to be the energy, soul or personality of a person who has died and has somehow gotten stuck between this plane of existence and the next. Most researchers believe that these spirits do not know they are dead. Very often they have died under traumatic, unusual or highly emotional circumstances. Ghosts can be perceived by the living in a number of ways: through sight (apparitions), sound (voices), smell (frangrances and odors), touch - and sometimes they can just be sensed.

Protocol for Investigating
Never investigate outside in rain, snow, or humid/wet weather.

Reason:

Moisture will form condensation on your camera’s lens creating a picture of orbs – many orbs! You can still hunt for EVPs (Electronic Voice Phenomena), but refrain from this as well if the rain is falling so hard that it is very loud and will clutter the recording with background noise.

When outside in the cold weather, hold your breath while taking a photo. The steam that is created from your breath against the cold air will show up as an amazing ectoplasmic v***r – just like cigarette smoke does.
