L.E.A.P is a non-profit community action agency that serves all of Washington County. Located in Fort Edward, we have been aiding individuals and families in defining and reaching their goals, economically, educationally and more for over 50 years. Our organization believes that supporting individuals and families in attaining self-sufficiency is done best through building relationships and strong community networks. L.E.A.P services include Head Start and Early Head Start programs, employment counseling for adolescents and adults, emergency assistance through our food pantry, winter coat drive, community garden, and assistance with rent or utilities, transportation for senior citizens and community building partnerships and activities. Yesterday, our awesome friends from the Cambridge NY Fire Department stopped by to teach our preschoolers about ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ซ๐ž ๐ฌ๐š๐Ÿ๐ž๐ญ๐ฒ, let them see and hear the equipment firefighters use and wear - because we don't want our friends afraid of the helpers if they ever encounter them - and taught the students to "๐ ๐ž๐ญ ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฐ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ ๐จ!" if there is a fire and smoke in their home! Afterward all of the littles, even the toddlers, got to climb up onto the truck and even got to put out some fake fires with the actual hose in carnival water cannon style. โฃ

Our teachers often have the pleasure of creating the first student-teacher and parent-teacher relationships in most families lives, and they do so with ๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ก and ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฆ. Every day our teachers are doing amazing things across Washington County with the ๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ in our communities.
