We are ready for a big weekend! The Fort Edward Historical Association has opportunities for you to engage with local history in two places:

📜Museum tours are offered as usual, Friday and Saturday from 1 to 4 PM at 29 Broadway in Fort Edward, NY. Please note that Saturday, October 10th, is our last day open for the 2026 regular tour season (👀stay tuned for our holiday tour schedule🎄)

🎡We are also at the Washington County Antique Fair at the county fairgrounds in building #21. We will have a curated collection of antiques and vintage items for sale, along with Fall plants and Washington County "250th: Celebrate America's History in your backyard." shirts🛍️

Wherever you visit us this weekend, every purchase you make supports our mission to preserve history and promote education🗺️

Please note: We are not offering tours today, Thursday October 8th, while we set up for the Washington County Antiques Fair

Visitors are still welcome to come and enjoy a self-guided tour of the grounds, including the Firefighter's Garden which is looking particularly beautiful with it's fall blooms on display.

📜We are looking forward to joining other local historical organizations at the SUNY Adirondack History Day Monday, October 12th!

SUNY Adirondack Continuing Education, the Warren County Historical Society, New York and the 250th Commission are coming together to present "The Declaration of Independence: A 21st Century Perspective.”

The morning will feature presentations from regional experts exploring history, literature and political science perspectives:

📖 Jessica Best, Ph.D. — Professor of English, SUNY Adirondack
🏛️ Mark Dragoni, Ph.D. — Associate Professor of European History, SUNY Adirondack

This Fall we have two tours scheduled:

The school year has begun and we are now scheduling school field trips! Don't hesitate, the season goes quickly 🍂

These immersive tours include several historic buildings🏛️ and cover life in our area from the French and Indian War through the 1940's. We adapt tours to each group's age and interests👨‍🏫 Weather permitting, a visit can include time on our beautiful grounds🪾a walking tour of lock 7 on the NYS Canal Corporation Champlain Canal🛥️ and a visit to the Rogers Island Visitors Center and Museum
