Life Is Bliss Dragon Boat Association Life Is Bliss is a dragon boat team made up entirely of breast cancer survivors and supporters, based in Ames, IA. We are a non-profit organization.

The Life Is Bliss dragon boat team was “born” in 2012. members of the Fighting Angels Abreast Dragon Boat Team from Fort Dodge and Bliss Cancer Center offered their support to help for a team in the Story County area to participate in the annual Badger Lake Dragon Boat Bash in Fort Dodge. They wanted to spread the word about the benefits of the activity for those battling and recovering from breas

t cancer. The Life Is Bliss dragon boat team was formed, and its members found the activity to be personally rewarding. It has also been beneficial by helping by helping to change attitudes toward life after breast cancer, and encourages women and men to lead full and active lives. Dragon boating events help to raise funds for breast cancer research, and provide awareness about living with breast cancer, and the importance of early detection.

Thanks to all of the organizers and volunteers at Badger Lake Dragon Boat Bash, who worked so hard to make the event happen.

Our final race was against fellow breast cancer team Fighting Angels Abreast of Fort Dodge, who helped us start our team in 2012. It was a photo finish(I left before results could be announced due to incoming weather).

We will continue practicing until many of our team head to France for international competition later this summer. Life is Bliss team will be filled out with members of some other Midwest teams.
