Emotional Support Shrimp

This little African Dwarf Frog came to us with their own pet, a shrimp!! If given large enough tank, these two critters can cohabitate and create am amazing little ecosystem!

A Prairie Rattlesnake found during the Ponds Fire mop up on Friday, April 24th.

This week a wildfire threatened homes in West Fort Collins, resulting in mandatory evacuations for many people. Luckily, the swift response prevented damage to any nearby homes.

However the fire did burn around 9 acres of prairie habitat. Luckily our reptile friends are well adapted to local fire regimes and can withstand long periods of unfavorable conditions.

This little friend's den had likely been burned over and they are experiencing a short term forced migration to find new cover and food resources.
