From one home to the next! After years of calls, training, countless hours, and memories made at our old cache, it’s time to turn the page.

Today, we move into a brand-new facility built to better serve our team and our community. While the building may be new, our mission remains the same: be ready, be there, and serve when we’re needed most.

Here’s to a new chapter and many more years of service. We’re excited to see everyone Friday, August 21, at 10:30am for the ribbon cutting.

Yesterday at approximately 2130, the Larimer County Dive Rescue Team was dispatched to reports of a subject and their dog stranded on the opposite side of the river.

Upon arrival, LCDRT deployed three swiftwater rescue swimmers to make contact with the patient and provide any necessary aid. The patient was found to be cold but otherwise uninjured. They explained they had crossed the river earlier in the day when water levels were lower, but rising afternoon flows prevented them from crossing back.

A high-line boat system was established to safely transport both the patient and their dog back to the near shore. Once the rescue was complete, the system was disassembled, the swimmers returned to shore, and the team arrived back at the station at 0100 today.

If you plan on recreating near or around the river, be mindful of changing conditions. River levels often rise throughout the afternoon due to upstream snowmelt, making crossings that seem safe earlier in the day much more hazardous later on. Always have a plan and avoid attempting to cross if conditions appear unsafe.

This past weekend we were scheduled for our annual ice diving course. The only thing missing was the ice! We still had a good weekend of training and got lots of dives recorded.

Yesterday we found some ice at City Park to train for ice rescue. A little chilly but the team did awesome!

Today is Colorado Gives Day! Today is an opportunity to give to your local nonprofit orginazations. The Larimer County Dive team is a nonprofit that has been serving the county for over 50 years. We are always grateful to our donors as their financial support helps keep our team safe by giving us the means to purchase new equipment, maintain our current equipment, and fund training opportunities.

The Larimer County Dive Rescue Team is a self-funded, all-volunteer water rescue organization. To keep LCDRT operating, we must rely on the local community for donations and support. Local support is paramount to the LCDRT existence and ability to properly train and equip...

This morning our team conducted our annual watermanship test. The test consists of a 500 yard swim, 15 minute tread, 800 yard snorkel swim, 100 yard inert rescue tow and a free dive to retrieve a brick from the bottom of the pool. Everyone did great! We finished things up by refreshing some basic scuba skills.
