We are a 501(c)(3)non-profit organization located in Fort Collins, Colorado, committed to protecting and treasuring Mustangs on and off the range.

OUR MISSION
Wild Rose Mustang Advocacy Group Incorporated (Wild Rose MAGIC) is a 501(c)(3) organization run by a team of experienced volunteers with an unbridled passion for Mustangs. Based in Fort Collins, Colorado, our mission is to foster, train and rehome American Mustangs to showcase their innate talents and versatility. leda_training.jpg
OUR MODEL
Many of our Mustangs arrive to us having never been handled and understandably, afraid. Using natural horsemanship techniques, we show them that humans can be trusted, that they can look to humans to calm their fears, and a partnership develops. We start with basic haltering, picking up feet, and trailering; progress to groundwork, under saddle training, and showing. This process can be as short as 2-4 months or up to a year depending on the needs of each individual horse. Once they have 2-4 months of under saddle training, they are offered for adoption. Our head trainer, Cayla Stone, has trained over 50 Mustangs in the past 10 years using natural horsemanship techniques. We aim to provide the necessary under saddle training that Mustangs need to be more easily adopted.

Brego is a fearless horse who is capable of everything you can imagine. He has extensive desensitization with tarps, kiddie pools, tires, logs, worn sunglasses, a unicorn horn, gymnastics mat, hula hoops, and has dragged a shark around the arena. He has played with yoga balls, basketballs, riding flags, bubble machines, and water balloons. He can load in the trailer first try every time as well as back out. He is able to lunge at all paces. He has a very mellow and laid-back personality.
He would make a really cute driving pony!

San Diego “Sandi” is a bay roan mustang with a curious, friendly personality and a love for people. She currently stands at 12.3 and string tested 14.1 for an approximate future height. She is an “in-your-pocket” filly who genuinely enjoys attention and learning new things.
Sandi is an exceptionally quick learner. When introduced to something new, it typically takes her only about three tries before she understands and has it down. She has shown this consistency with tying, leading, trailer work, loading, lunging, and other new skills. Once she learns something, she is ready to move on to the next challenge.
In addition to being intelligent and eager to learn, Sandi is very athletic. She is quick and nimble on her feet, moves confidently, and uses her hind end well. She has a lot of natural ability and potential, and her willingness to learn makes her a joy to work with.
Sandi is a special young mustang with a great combination of personality, intelligence, athleticism, and try. She could be a great horse for cow work or ranch riding or an all-around horse. She's shown to have a pretty nice natural rollback when playing. This filly is truly something special.

Brego and Porter were feeling frisky this morning with the cooler temps. Boys will be boys and they enjoyed their little bitey games and wrestling match.

Come meet these 5 USFS yearlings who are looking for their new homes!!! We're having an open house this Saturday and Sunday, from 11 to 1, where you can meet them. Cherry, Spud, Sandi, Porter and Brego would love to meet you!

We can't be sure how big they'll get, but following are current heights:
Cherry currently 13.2. String tested to 15.2.
Spud currently 13.1. String tested to 15.2.
Sandi currently 12.3. String tested to 14.1.
Porter currently 13.1. String tested to 16.0.
Brego currently 12.1. String tested to 13.1.

This cutie turns 1 today!!! Happy birthday Porter❤️❤️❤️

We worked on getting some cute pics and videos today to show off his beautiful conformation and movement. He currently stands 13.1h and string tested to 16h😃

This Devil's Garden baby is available for adoption and looking for his forever home. We'll have new pics and videos out soon of him and the other 4 yearlings who are available.

These 5 yearlings from our summer trainer challenge are avaliable and looking for their forever homes. Sandi, Cherry, Spud, Porter and Brego all did great at the showcase and showed just how wonderful Mustangs are. Now they want to show you what great family additions they can be.

Oshie is a wild born bay gelding yearling from the Devil’s Garden herd. He is a curious horse who is quick to learn. Oshie
exhbited some fear when he arrived so was given time to settle, get used to his new horse companion, and eat as much hay
as he liked. He has responded well to positive reinforcement training that gives him space to learn in a calm manner. He enjoys working at liberty, leading, standing for fly spray, picking up feet, and investigating new objects. He is confident with
tarps, flags, water and more.
Oshie arrived scraggly, with a matted coat, undermuscled, and looked like a wobbly leg fawn, which is how he ended up with the Irish name for fawn, Oisin. Over the last three months, with good nutrition and deworming his has grown into his frame,
developed muscle, and a beautiful shiny coat has emerged.
Oshie is athletic with beautiful gates. He will make a wonderful all around horse, but would like excel as an eventing prospect.
