OUR MISSION
Wild Rose Mustang Advocacy Group Incorporated (Wild Rose MAGIC) is a 501(c)(3) organization run by a team of experienced volunteers with an unbridled passion for Mustangs. Based in Fort Collins, Colorado, our mission is to foster, train and rehome American Mustangs to showcase their innate talents and versatility. leda_training.jpg
OUR MODEL
Many of our Mustangs arrive to us having nev

er been handled and understandably, afraid. Using natural horsemanship techniques, we show them that humans can be trusted, that they can look to humans to calm their fears, and a partnership develops. We start with basic haltering, picking up feet, and trailering; progress to groundwork, under saddle training, and showing. This process can be as short as 2-4 months or up to a year depending on the needs of each individual horse. Once they have 2-4 months of under saddle training, they are offered for adoption. Our head trainer, Cayla Stone, has trained over 50 Mustangs in the past 10 years using natural horsemanship techniques. We aim to provide the necessary under saddle training that Mustangs need to be more easily adopted.

Meet Team Porter!
Lisa and Michelle are thrilled to be working with this adorable guy in our Trainer Challenge! Porter will celebrate his first birthday this September, and he's already making incredible progress.
This sweet boy is starting to enjoy gentle scratches and brushing, and his loving personality shines a little brighter every day. Last night, Lisa successfully removed his tag, which will be saved as a special keepsake for his future adopter. (see video in comments)
Be sure to follow along as Porter builds confidence, learns new skills, and continues his journey toward finding his forever home. We can't wait to share his growth and milestones with you! ❤️

Meet the babies! Our 10 yearlings are finished with quarantine and will be going with their trainers this weekend. We’ve given them all temporary names (because they’re more than just a number) Stay tuned to watch these babies blossom over the next few months.

Two of the Ten Double Devil Wild Horse Corrals yearlings went off to their trainer's last night and the rest will be going over the next few days. Montego Bay and Monterey Bay loaded up nicely, relatively speaking for two ungentled yearlings, and went with their trainer Brie for the summer. They love their new pen and were enjoying some fresh greenery that needed their immediate attention.

These Ten are in our summer Youth Trainer and Mustang Training Challenge. Follow us for updates on their training over the summer as they prepare for the big Training Challenge Showcase on August 29th. This group will be available for adoption after the showcase.

We're one week in with the Double Devil Wild Horse Corrals yearlings here and we've given them temporary names. Names over numbers is always better ❤️. Ultimately, their trainers will get to name them when they pick them up next week, so many names will change.

I hope you enjoy these super cute and friendly Devil Garden and Murderer's Creek yearlings. They're in our summer Youth and Adult Mustang Training Challenge and will be available for adoption after our showcase on August 29, 2026. Follow us here for updates and check out our website for more info on individual horses.

Did somebody say, baby Horses?!
What a great bunch of yearlings we have for this year‘s trainer challenge! The trainers got to come out and meet the horses, and each other today. We also had a great clinic with our head trainer Cayla Stone. She went over some of the do’s and don’ts of handling an untrained Mustang.
We’re off to a great start and we’re so excited to watch theses babies blossom 🥰❤️

Our 10 yearling arrived yesterday, and they are absolutely adorable and full of curiosity! Most of them have already enjoyed some touches and scratches. They will spend the next two weeks in quarantine, after which our dedicated youth and adult trainers will pick them up to begin training.

Mark your calendars for our Trainer Showcase on August 29th, where our trainers will proudly display their hard work!

Right now, not all of these lovely mustangs have a trainer. If you’re interested in participating in our Trainer Challenge, click the link below to apply! The application fees are $500 for adults, and $300 for youth 10-17, which will help cover the six clinics we’ll host throughout the summer.

Phoebe 2.0 🤣 This filly is so much like Phoebe (from last year’s challenge) They were calling her Demi (we’ll see if that sticks) She is a character and could totally be Phoebe’s sister.

They’re here! And they’re adorable! ❤️Teaser pic tonight. Much more to come tomorrow ☺️
