SAVA has been Scouted!

We are incredibly honored to be featured in Volume 3 of The Scout Guide Fort Collins, alongside so many of the people, organizations, and businesses making Northern Colorado a stronger place to call home.

This feature means even more because of the generosity behind it. Shani Canillas and the entire TSG Fort Collins team donated this beautiful spread to SAVA, giving us the opportunity to share our mission, our work, and the resources available to survivors with an even wider reach.

A special thank you to Photography by Arianne for capturing our work (and volunteer models) with such care, and to Shani for believing that survivor services deserve space in a beautiful guide dedicated to what makes our community worth celebrating.

Visibility matters. The more people who know SAVA is here for them, the more likely it is that someone who needs us will know where to turn.

Volume 3 is out now, and we are so proud to be part of it. Thank you again, TSG Fort Collins, for scouting SAVA and for using your platform to support survivors.

Huge thank you to everyone who adopted ducks for SAVA during the 3rd Annual Fort Collins Rotary Duck Race, hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Fort Collins Foothills and Downtown and presented by Fort Collins Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram. Together, you raised $1,325 for survivors through SAVA duck adoptions. We feel like some really lucky ducks to live in such a supportive community!

Highlight of the day (besides the thousands of dollars in cash prizes awarded to the fastest floaters), one REAL duck showed up and joined the rubber racers all on its own. Easily our favorite unregistered participant. 10/10 supervisory skills.

Don’t miss your chance to be one of the lucky ducks who takes home a big cash prize this Saturday, August 29th, from the Fort Collins Foothills & Downtown Rotary Duck Race!

You do NOT need to be present to win, but you do have to purchase your duck adoptions by 9am on Saturday. Support survivors in Northern Colorado with your purchase through SAVA Center at https://fcrotaryduckrace.org/sava-center.

Representation matters! That is why SAVA Center's SOAR Program recently used a grant courtesy of the Bohemian Foundation to revitalize our graphics to better represent the disability community that we work with every day. No matter a person's ability, everyone has the right to accessible and inclusive education! When a program participant comes to SOAR, they should be able to see themselves in the lessons they are being taught.

Thank you to our illustrator, Zach Roszczewski, for your partnership and for working on this project with such intentionality and care.

We're officially back to school! Our Prevention Educators are heading back into classrooms this week alongside students in Larimer and Weld counties as we celebrate the beginning of another great school year.

We cannot wait to work with all the middle and high school students in Northern Colorado through SAVA’s school-based prevention programs, building skills around consent, healthy relationships, boundaries, communication, safety, and respect.

SAVA’s 24/7 crisis hotline is often the first place a survivor reaches for support, and our volunteers help make sure someone is always there to answer.

Hotline volunteers provide steady, compassionate support during calls, accompany survivors to forensic exams, and help people navigate some of the hardest moments of their lives. The work asks for time, care, and humanity, and it makes a real difference across our community.

Applications for our next volunteer cohort are due August 20.
