What is Capernaum?
Young Life Capernaum is the branch of Young Life ministering to individuals with disabilities aged 6th grade to 21. It derives its name from a story in Mark 2, when a man who had been paralyzed was brought to the feet of Jesus by four of his friends.
Capernaum in Northern Colorado seeks to show our friends with disabilities that they are not an accident or a mistake as society often leads them to believe. They were made with a purpose and value, and deserve to live in a way that reflects how their Creator sees them- as a Son or Daughter of the King. As we walk with our friends with disabilities, we hope to show them that they bring something to the table and that they have something worth sharing with the world. We get to do life together, creating meaningful relationship through the ministry of music, dancing, games, and other fun activities.
