Meet the TEDxSemesterAtSea Production Team!

Behind every TEDx talk is an incredible team of people working together to bring ideas to life.

During TEDxSemesterAtSea – Spring 2026 Voyage 137, our core production team was made up of an inspiring group of students, Staculty, and Lifelong Learners.

This wasn't just event production - it was experiential learning in action.

Our team gained hands-on experience in:

• Event production
• Speaker coaching
• Marketing
• Social media
• Photography
• Videography
• Storytelling
• Communications
• Leadership
• Team collaboration

And the work didn’t stop with our core team, more than 50 volunteers from across the voyage generously gave their time, talents, and energy to help make TEDxSemesterAtSea possible!

Together, they created an unforgettable experience for approximately 600 attendees and helped launch a collection of ideas that will soon be shared with audiences around the world.

Every student, Staculty member, Lifelong Learner, and volunteer, thank you. You didn't just help produce an event. You helped create an experience that has continued to inspire others long after the voyage ended.

During Semester at Sea’s Spring 2026 Voyage 137, the official TEDxSemesterAtSea initiative launched. Held during the sea stretch between Kenya and South Africa, the event brought the TED mission of ideas worth spreading to life.

Ten speakers - eight students, one Lifelong Learner, and one Staculty member - took the TEDx stage to share stories, perspectives, and ideas that will help spark global change.

Four unforgettable performances brought our shipboard community closer together, while more than 600 students, lifelong learners, staculty, and ship kids helped create a TEDx experience unlike any other.

And this is only the beginning.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll take you behind the scenes, introduce the remarkable production team that made it all possible, spotlight our speakers, and share the journey of launching a TEDx event aboard a floating campus traveling the world.
