ποΈ May is Healthy Vision Month β and there's no better time to talk about something we often take for granted: our eyesight.
Vision is at the heart of how we experience the world. It connects us to the faces we love, the hobbies that bring us joy, and the independence we value. And yet, millions of Americans are living with vision loss that could have been slowed, treated, or better managed with the right support.
Here are a few simple reminders this Healthy Vision Month:
Schedule a comprehensive eye exam β especially if it's been more than a year
Know your family history β many eye conditions are hereditary
Protect your eyes from UV light
Pay attention to changes in your vision β blurry, shadowy, or distorted sight is never something to ignore
If you've been diagnosed with a vision condition, know that help is available
At Ensight Skills Center, we work with individuals who are living with low vision β vision that cannot be fully corrected with glasses, contacts, or surgery. Our team helps people make the most of the vision they have, regain confidence, and stay independent.
A vision diagnosis doesn't have to mean giving up the life you love.
