Our Scouts stay in Scouting over 3 times as long as the average troop, and earn Eagle (BSA's highest award) at 12 times the national average. Not because they have to..., but because it's a challenging and enjoyable journey for Scouts (and their families).

One of our scouts Ethan H has built a bike repair stand City of Fort Collins Natural Areas Maxwell and Bobcat Ridge

🚲 Shoutout to Eagle Scout Ethan Hawley from Troop 97!

Ethan recently completed his impressive Eagle Scout project: fundraising for and installing two bike repair stations—one at Maxwell Natural Area and one at Bobcat Ridge Natural Area.

Ethan first pitched the idea back in November 2023 and stayed committed through the installations in mid-April 2025. The project involved extensive fundraising to purchase the equipment and several field visits to prep and install the stations, with help from the Natural Areas Trails and Visitor Amenities Team.

🔧Each repair station includes: a bike pump with Presta and Schrader valves, Phillips and standard screwdrivers, steel core tire levers (two), headset/pedal wrench, 8/10 mm cone wrench, 9/11 mm cone wrench, Torx T-25 wrench, and a hex key set.

One of our scouts Max, who is on the VISION Robotics Team at Liberty Common High School, earned multiple awards this last weekend.

LCHS robotics teams LASER and Vision competed in a second tournament last weekend. Both teams faced stiff competition from 26 other Colorado teams. After several hard fought battles, both teams competed in the final round of the competition. LASER won 2nd place Inspire Award, was captain of the finalist alliance, and earned a ticket to the state competition. Vision won the Design Award and was selected as finalist partner in alliance with LASER. Both teams will compete again this coming weekend at the state tournament. Congratulations to all robotics team members and good luck at the state competition.

This helps support the troop's trips to summer camp, treks, campouts, and other troop needs.

Troop 97 is a large, active, adventure-oriented troop. Not because they have to..., but because it's a challenging and enjoyable journey for Scouts (and their families). Troop 97 is one of the first troops in the area to offer Scouting to girls as well as boys.
