NoCo Foundation The Community Foundation is a nonprofit, public foundation working for the benefit of charitable causes and organizations in Northern and Eastern Colorado.

The NoCo Foundation fosters collaboration, serves as a catalyst for community projects, and is a trusted steward and service provider to philanthropists and nonprofit organizations. As of June 30, 2021, it manages $185 million in assets.

Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N) hosted its annual Welcome Home Benefit on September 10th at The Lincoln Center in Fort Collins. Honoring a 56-year legacy, the sold-out event exceeded its goal by funding emergency housing assistance for 140 local families facing acute crisis. These contributions expand N2N’s proven eviction prevention programs across Larimer and Weld counties, building on last year's milestone of helping 811 households achieve a 91% long-term stability rate.

Congratulations to Neighbor to Neighbor and its partners for turning community generosity and support into housing stability for local families.

At the NoCo Foundation, we believe lasting community impact is built through strong organizations, bold ideas, and meaningful partnerships.

Last week, our Board of Trustees toured several organizations and community spaces across Loveland, including the Children's Museum of Northern Colorado, Grace Gardens, The Forge, The Warehouse, Loveland Housing Authority, Loveland Habitat for Humanity, Artspace, and the Pulliam Community Building.

The visit highlighted the many ways local leaders are investing in opportunity, connection, and a stronger future for the community!

Creating affordable housing opportunities takes strong partnerships and the right resources.

The NoCo Housing Development & Preservation Loan Fund is now accepting applications from nonprofits, housing authorities, and developers working to create or preserve affordable housing in Larimer and Weld counties.

Through flexible financing, the fund is designed to help move housing projects forward and expand housing opportunities for the people who live and work in our region.

We are excited to welcome Michael Blaney to the NoCo Foundation as our new Marketing and Communications Manager.

Michael joins the Foundation after serving in marketing and communications roles with the University of Wyoming Foundation and Alumni Association. He earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Wyoming and is passionate about using storytelling to connect communities, elevate local voices, and inspire action.

Michael is excited to help capture and share stories of how nonprofits, donors, businesses, and community leaders are working together to strengthen Northern Colorado and create lasting impact across the region.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his better half, Kenna, and their two corgis. He can usually be found mountain biking, hiking, camping, or exploring the Poudre Canyon with a camera in hand.

Meet Brooke! Brooke is the Regional Housing Officer at the NoCo Foundation. She has been in her role for a year and has been a rockstar since day one. Read on to learn more about Brooke.

What is a nonprofit you are passionate about and why?
I worked at Neighbor to Neighbor for 7 years and will never get over the amount of hope and long-term stability rent assistance can provide to hardworking families. That being said, we are lucky to live in a community with many wonderful nonprofits that act as a critical social safety net.

What’s your superpower in the workplace?
Building relationships—I love connecting with people from all walks of life, learning what makes them tick, and sharing a laugh or two.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
You can't always choose the day ahead of you, but you can choose your attitude about it.

What's your favorite weekend activity?
It depends on the season! In winter, I'm probably cuddled up with a book; in spring, you'll see me on the driving range trying to remember how to golf; in summer, you can catch me on my paddleboard; and in fall, I'm cheering on the Broncos, Rams, and my fantasy football players.

Housing at a Crossroads Key Factor 2: What We Build Does Not Match What People Need

The data shows that much of the housing built in recent decades has been larger, single-family homes, even as household sizes are declining. The fastest growing demographic in our region is older adults, who often have different housing needs.

Smaller, more attainable options are in short supply, in part because state and local policies limit what can be built and where.

This mismatch reduces flexibility in the market and people may stay in homes that no longer fit their needs, while others struggle to find an entry point.
