For this month’s meet Ryann! Ryann first joined Vindeket in June of 2025 as both a volunteer and an intern. It didn’t take long for her to become a familiar and steady presence in the Market. She is currently finishing her degree in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources at CSU, graduating this May. 🌅🌈🌋

Outside of Vindeket, Ryann is deeply musical; she has played piano since she was eight years old and recently picked up the drums. When she’s not making music, she enjoys hanging out with friends or her cat! 🎵😺

In her new role as Market and Participant Manager, Ryann is most excited to deepen her connections with the community — from service and Market participants to the many non-profits that partner with Vindeket. Strengthening those relationships is what energizes her most.💪🏼

For Ryann, Vindeket represents resistance: a refusal to accept the status quo of our current food system. It’s a place that imagines a different way of doing things, one where food is valued rather than wasted and community is built through shared purpose. 😋🥭🥒🙌🏽

We’re proud to share that we’ve received a National NeighborhoodPromise® grant from the Republic Services Charitable Foundation to complete a project in the North Colorado community. Our project will ensure we can efficiently rescue and sustainably provide food to our community. This grant will meaningfully support our community, and we look forward to starting this project inpartnership with Republic Services.

For this month's , meet McKenna! She has been volunteering at Vindeket for 3 and a half years and, in that time, has become a steady and joyful presence. She can often be found behind the bread, working her favorite position - Loaf Logistics Specialist.🥐🥖🍞

Outside of Vindeket, McKenna is earning her Master’s in Sustainable Business through CSU’s Impact MBA program, with which she hopes to work with non-profits in the future.🤓👩‍🎓

When she’s not studying or volunteering, you’ll probably find her climbing, hiking, or hosting dinners for friends.🌋🥘

For McKenna, Vindeket represents something powerful: a way to take a broken system and transform it into something that serves people. Fighting food waste and helping the community at the same time is a dual impact that keeps her coming back week after week.😍

We’re grateful McKenna chooses to spend her time and energy with us!🙌
