RamFam,
We hope the semester is going well for you and your Ram(s) as we inch towards the changing colors of Fall, mid-terms, and hopefully a chance for the business of Fall to slow us down. We are excited to share details of our plans for Homecoming and Family Weekend with you! These programs and opportunities to engage with Parent and Family Programs and our partners are now open to you for planning and engagement purposes. We genuinely hope you consider attending some or all of these events.
Parent and Family Programs HCFW Interest Session - Finding your Home: Housing Options for Next Year and Beyond *Registration Required*
Friday, October 17
8:00am-10am
Lory Student Center Ballrooms D, C, and B
Check-in is available in front of LSC Ballrooms D and C from 8-8:15am with a soft start at 8:15am
Is your student looking to stay or come back on-campus for housing, or looking for off-campus housing? Are they considering what type of housing will best meet their needs for next year and beyond? We are excited for your student’s potential transition into different housing options, and sometimes navigating that process can be complex in Fort Collins. This panel, presented by Off-Campus Life, Housing and Dining Services, and Parking and Transportation will offer options that are available to students preparing for their second year or beyond. Light breakfast items, coffee, and more are available! Come talk one on one with staff.
Hosted by Parent and Family Programs. Hay interpretación al español disponible.
We utilize our RSVP system to determine sizing and catering; please only submit an RSVP if you intend to be there in-person. Information from the program will become available at a later date.
Please register for the event here: https://colostate.campusesp.com/events/event-251
Festival on the Oval
Friday, October 17
3pm-6pm
The Oval at CSU
Come join Parent and Family Programs and many other CSU offices, external businesses and vendors, and more for Festival on the Oval! This year, the festivities will include live music, children’s activities, food trucks, and a beer garden. If you find our table, come try your hand at winning some fun prizes!
And now, for other opportunities…
Off-Campus Life (OCL) is here to support you and your student through the off-campus housing search. On Friday, October 17th, immediately following the Housing After the First Year and Beyond presentation, Off-Campus Life is hosting their annual Homecoming Housing Tour, 10am-3pm. The tours are primarily focused on visiting apartment complexes, but there is also an option for guests to visit homes for sale.
• Apartment Tours: If your student is interested in renting an apartment next year, join the OCL team on the east side of the LSC North Parking lot (lot #310) to hop on a van heading to one of our Good Neighbor Program participants. OCL will provide round-trip transportation to the properties so you can tour the apartments and meet the staff. Registration is not required, but is helpful to support OCL’s planning. A map of the tour routes will be available online the week of the event and printed on a flyer that will be available at the Housing After the First Year and Beyond presentation and in the Off-Campus Life office (LSC 281) (in case folks want to drive themselves).
• Buying: If you are interested in purchasing a property for your student to live in, OCL’s partner REALTOR, Lori Weeks of RE/MAX Advanced Inc. will be hosting open houses. Visiting the open houses will give you an opportunity to check out real properties for sale and Lori will be providing examples of different payment options. These open houses are meant to give you an idea of what you can buy within your budget. This tour is self-guided, self-transported. Addresses of the open houses will be posted online the week of the event and printed on a flyer that will be available at the Housing After the First Year and Beyond presentation and in the Off-Campus Life office (LSC 281).
Parking Information
We understand that parking on-campus is going to be the favored option for guests. To that end, please refer to https://pts.colostate.edu/departmentpermits/ to get an idea for where to park on Homecoming and Family Weekend. We encourage guests to also consider parking off-campus, and you can utilize the Max Line (https://ridetransfort.com/routes-and-schedules/), as parking at CSU is a competitive resource. Unless something changes, you can assume that the usual parking policies for guests still apply on the Friday of Homecoming and Family Weekend. For Saturday, game-day parking applies and more information should be with the tickets you purchased.
Hotel Notice – CSU does not work directly with any hotels around Fort Collins for HCFW. Parent and Family Programs also does not have any discount codes or specials that can be used at hotels in Fort Collins or Loveland. Planning and reservations are the responsibility of guests.
Game Day Information
For those of you looking to purchase tickets for the Saturday football game, you can do so at this link - https://csurams.com/. Any questions around game day information can be answered by CSU Athletics at (800) 491-RAMS(7267).
