Feel Good Friday: Yesterday we broke ground on the first Habitat home built in Wellington for over 20 years! Thanks to an incredible act of generosity from Zion Lutheran Church and with the support of Town of Wellington, Colorado we are excited to expand our service area and make HOME possible for a Wellington family. Thank you to everyone who came to bless the dirt for this future home.

Also, let this be your friendly reminder that our Homebuyer Application Round is currently OPEN through September 30th. Help us fill this home, apply today!

As many local students head back to school today, we wanted to shout out the incredible Geometry in Construction classes at Poudre High! This is one of two homes that they built last year, nearing completion at Heartside Hill. With the new school year will come two additional Habitat homes built by students on-site as part of a specially designed curriculum that combines math and hands-on construction. We wish all of the students and teachers a safe, fun, and impactful school year!

Friendly reminder that our ReStore is still open and operating with full force this summer/early fall. Please consider donating home goods, wood furniture, decor and knick-knacks now through November 1st to support our mission and receive a potential tax break!

Hey, ReStore friends, we want to set the record straight! Yes, our location is closing at the end of this year, BUT it's pretty much "business as usual" until November. We still welcome your donations of home goods, wood furniture, decor, and knick-knacks to help the ReStore maximize our remaining impact. Thanks for thinking of the Fort Collins ReStore as you remodel, renovate, and update your home.

August is National Make-A-Will Month, a timely reminder to take one of the most important steps you can for the people you love.

While many of us intend to create a will "someday," most Americans either don't have one or haven't updated it in years. A current estate plan provides clarity for your loved ones, protects the people and possessions you care about most, and ensures your wishes are honored.

As you plan for the future and care for the people you love most, we also invite you to reflect on the causes that have helped shape your life and the values you hope to pass on. For many of our supporters, including Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity in their estate plans is a meaningful way to ensure future generations of local families have the opportunity to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.

A gift through your will or estate plan is more than a financial contribution. It is a lasting investment in families who dream of a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home. Long after we're gone, our values can continue to build stronger neighborhoods, create opportunities for children to thrive, and help hardworking families achieve the stability that comes with homeownership.

If you haven't yet created a will, today is a great day to start! Learn more and create your legal will in 20 minutes or less, FOR FREE at: https://fortcollinshabitat.org/planned-giving/

Here's some Habi-Happiness for your Tuesday: Crystal and her son, Neal, are Habitat homeowners who built their house in partnership with the Geometry in Construction program at Poudre High School a few years ago. Neal, who is a baking whiz, made his delicious cookies-and-cream cupcakes for the students that year.

Recently, Neal decided to host a neighborhood bake sale to raise funds for two of his favorite nonprofits. Today he brought in a $200 donation in support of Habitat's work.

We love young philanthropists (almost as much as we love Neal's baked goods.) Thank you, Neal, for your generous gift.
