The Diamond Peaks MTB Patrol had a packed May on and off the trails!

They kicked off the season with a group ride through Hewlett Gulch, followed by a social at a local brewery, then spent a full training day at Lory State Park covering horse and rider etiquette, trailside bike mechanics, and first aid.

Hugh Templeton of the Larimer County Horseman’s Association even brought his horse out for hands-on safety practice.

These volunteers are out there making our trails safer and more enjoyable for everyone. Thank you to Hugh, patroller John Byers, and patroller Steve Roths for leading sessions that make a real difference.

Here’s to a strong & safe season on the trails!

Trestle Season Pass discounts are no longer available this season. We were unaware we had a limit to submissions when we first posted the discounted information and will make sure to be clear on the limitations to this and communicate that clearly next season.

Thanks everyone!

The NoCo MTB Fest is leveling up this year!!

We’re heading to Inlet Bay at Horsetooth Reservoir Friday, September 25th through Sunday, September 27th for a full weekend of riding, camping, community, 75+ miles of single track and everything that makes Northern Colorado mountain biking special.

This year’s festival will include:

• Group rides for a variety of abilities
• Skills clinics
• Bike demos + vendors + food trucks
• On site camping at Inlet Bay
• Community events all weekend

The new location gives us more space to ride, connect, camp, and build an even bigger weekend experience together.

We’re currently gathering interest for camping so we can better plan the weekend setup, so make sure to fill out the camping survey here if you’re interested in staying on site: https://noco-mtb.lovable.app/camp-survey

Vendor and sponsor applications are officially open too! If your business wants to connect with Northern Colorado’s mountain bike community, this is shaping up to be one of the biggest years yet. Inquiry forms available on the vendor/sponsor pages.

Ticketing and volunteer signups are coming soon.

We can’t wait to see everyone at Horsetooth this summer.

Good trails don’t build themselves, but a good community does!

The trails we all love in Northern Colorado don’t maintain themselves. Lory, Horsetooth, Bobcat Ridge, they stay open and in good shape because people show up for them.

Before sunrise with tools, in meetings most of us never know about, building what we all get to enjoy.

The Spring Membership Drive is open through May 31 and all you have to do is join or renew your membership with OMBA. Joining or renewing is the most direct way to be part of that work, and everyone who does is automatically entered to win one of six prize packages from , , , , , , , and more. Two Yeti SB140s. A guided trip for two. Wheels, gear, the good stuff.

Link in bio to join or renew or head here: https://www.imba.com/join/chapter/overland-mtb And if you know someone who rides these trails and hasn’t joined yet, tag them below.

Awesome day out on DR Trail with OMBA staff, FCNA staff, and volunteers last Saturday, building 49 drainage structures across more than 2,100 feet of trail from the Powerline/Valley Loop junction up DR Trail.

These drains help move water off the trail tread to prevent erosion, protect the trail surface, and keep DR riding better for longer. The wind and partial shade made for a great day to dig and good vibes .

Huge thanks to everyone who came out and put in the work to help keep these trails in great shape!

Next Dig Day is this Thursday 5/21! (and we’re pretty short on signups this week 👀)

We had an awesome night out on the trail with volunteers, TSC, and ! With 10 incredible volunteers, 4 TSC crew members, and 1 FCNA staff member, we pushed up and over the ridge and through the first corner with major rock work and drainage progress.

Last week we completed:
• 596 ft of tread maintenance
• 246.25 cu/ft of rock work
• 14 drains installed

We still have a few finishing touches on rock tread sections and some vegetation management to wrap up, but the progress has been huge. Volunteers got hands-on experience learning about rock work in low-soil terrain and hearing more about this year’s TSC projects.

Huge shoutout to Brave New Wheel for keeping the crew fueled with grilled hot dogs, cold Gatorades, and bubblies after the dig.

We’ve had an All-Star volunteer crew so far and can’t wait to get deeper into the rock work around the next corner. See you Thursday! 🔗 in bio to sign up!

Fort Collins/Hughes Bike Park Update:

We know there was A LOT of excitement after the November election about the future Hughes bike park. Even though not visible to the public, “behind-the-scenes” work is moving to determine funding options, feasibility/site assessments, and timeline for the Hughes property as a whole. The next step likely to be visible to the public is the release of a draft site concept plan by city staff later this year. This will highlight how the site’s components will be arranged and how they will work together. This is needed before any development can begin with any specific components, such as the bike park. With $5 million in funding already approved for bike park development, it is possible this piece could begin construction before others that are on a longer timeline. OMBA and other stakeholders will continue to provide input as able throughout the process, and we will share those updates as more information is available.
