Field trip alert 🦬

Confluence 2026 attendees will head out to Soapstone Natural Area to visit a herd of ~30 bison on the range and hear from the researchers and partners behind one of the world’s leading bison conservation programs.

Led by Dr. Jen Barfield of CSU’s Larimer Foothills Bison Conservation Program and the City of Fort Collins, this trip digs into what it actually takes to build collaboration between ranchers, tribal nations, and conservation agencies around a keystone species. Spoiler: it’s a lot of relationship-building.

This is the kind of place-based learning that makes Confluence unlike any other gathering. Registration closes May 5. 🔗 Link in bio

For most conservation organizations funding isn’t optional, it’s essential.

Before Confluence 2026 officially kicks off, join Strategic by Nature for Beyond Grants: Adapting Fundraising for Conservation — a half-day pre-conference workshop on May 18 built for practitioners ready to think creatively about sustainable funding. You’ll connect with conservation funders directly, work through the full resource development cycle, and leave with concrete strategies you can actually use.
