Westfield Waves – May 16 Update
We were pleased so many swim families could attend the Friday night meeting. Thank you for your time. Here are a few updates:
1 – First practice – June 1
Group 1 - 6:30 a.m. – 7:45 a.m. oldest swimmers (most likely ages 11+)
Group 2 - 7:45 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. middle swimmers (most likely ages 9-10)
Group 3 – 8:45 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. youngest swimmers (most likely age 8 and under)
(As with every year, these groupings will be adjusted after registration and we know the swimmers ages. Westfield Waves reserves the right to change swimmer’s groupings based on numbers, coaches’ recommendations, swimmer ability, etc.)
About a week before the first practice, we’ll narrow down the definite ages for each session and will send you an email.
At this time, in order to reduce the number of people on deck at practices, parents will not be allowed to watch practices at the pool. If this changes as summer progresses, we will let you know.
2 – If you would like to order Westfield Waves team gear (caps, t-shirts, hoodies and more) please download the attached form and have your swimmer bring it to practice by June 3.
3 – Team suits and jammers will be available at MI Sports in north Loveland AFTER May 18. Team suits are optional, and swimmers are welcome to wear any suit they are comfortable in. View the suits here.
4 – We will be looking for a ‘Starter Apprentice’ to help with swim meets in 2022. If you’re interested, you can train this summer with our current starter, and learn the ropes. We are also looking for help with the Westfield Waves Board of Directors to help with future seasons.
5 – If your swimmer is currently swimming on a competitive team (Vortex, Fast or other) and they want to participate in the proposed end of season events (City Meet and State Meet) they must not practice with their competitive team after May 15.
6 – Westfield Waves swim team cannot function without the help of wonderful parent volunteers. Families with 1 swimmer must volunteer 2 times and families with 2 or more swimmers must volunteer 3 times to meet this obligation and have your deposit returned.
***Families who do not fulfill their volunteer obligation will forfeit their $100 volunteer deposit and WePay will charge your account.***
About a week before swim meets, the volunteer coordinator will send out a sign-up list on email, so please look for that! Learn more about volunteer positions here!
Thank you very much!

See you at the pool!
