Unfortunately, our 4 person team format has not received the same engagement as previous years. Due to this we will be changing this years fundraiser event to a single person competition. You can find more details in the updated event page but here are the basics.
This event will be run more like an “In-house competition” but is open to the public. Athletes will perform their workout then judge in the next heat.
Same Date - Saturday, August 17th
Cost $25 per athlete
Venmo -3-Benevolent-Fund
Then email [email protected] to secure your registration
There will be a podium for both Rx and Scaled athletes with medals but no other prizes. The point of this is to still raise money for our first responders and to keep costs low. We hope you’ll come and join us for the 3 workout event and have some fun while supporting our community!
*If you have already registered a team, we will be reaching out to refund you and gauge interest in the individual format.

Here is the first workout release for Barbells & Badges 2024! Register using the Venmo in the second photo and email [email protected] with your team details.

Explanation:
Teams will split themselves into two same gender pairs and complete this workout as a team of 2. The scores of each pair will combine and create 1 score for the team.

As a pair, you and your partner can split all reps anyway you choose to. One athlete will remain in a “rest zone” while the other starts their burpees. A clear hand tag must be made to trade the working partners. Teams can alternate every rep, or have one person do all the burpees and the other do all the sn**ches.

Standards:
Bar Facing Burpee: 2024 Open standards – both feet in the air but do not need to be a two foot take off or landing. The burpee must be bar facing.

Sn**ch: Athletes can power or squat sn**ch but must show control at the top with hips extended and both feet in line together.

Rx Loads:
Weight 1: 75/55
Weight 2: 135/95
Weight 3: 165/110
Weight 4: 205/145

Scaled Loads
Weight 1: 55/40
Weight 2: 95/65
Weight 3: 115/75
Weight 4: 135/95

Workout Description:
This workout will be in relay fashion with only one team member working at a time.
Athletes can perform as many reps as they’d like before rotating but the team must
rotate in the same order for the entire workout. If an athlete wants to be skipped
they must still run out to the station and touch the equipment before running back
to tag in the next athlete.
All 4 athletes will begin in a resting zone. At the start of the workout one athlete will
run to the Echo Bike for the calorie buy in. The athlete can do as many calories as
they would like to before running back to the resting zone and tagging in the next
athlete. Teams must complete their designated calorie count before moving onto the
“2 Round” portion of the workout. The workout will be scored for time after
completing the second round of Ring MU / Matador Dips. If a team does not finish, 1
second will be added to the team’s time for each rep not completed by 20 minutes. If
a team finishes early then they will have 2 minutes from 18:00-20:00 to complete as
many unbroken handstand walks as possible (20 feet Rx, 8 feet Scaled). Teams will
follow the same order as in the original workout. For each unbroken handstand
walk your team’s overall time will be reduced by 5 seconds (Rx) and 3 seconds
(Scaled). If your team finishes the original workout prior to 18 minutes you must
rest until 18:00 to begin your handstand walks. If you finish after 18 minutes then
you can immediately begin handstand walks.
