🌡️ PEA in the national spotlight!

In light of the heat & early release policy in effect this week, we’re especially proud to see our PEA Heat Committee featured in NEA Today, advocating for safe and healthy working and learning conditions.

Working conditions are learning conditions. ✊

Whether it’s crushing workload, unsafe environment, lack of support or larger class sizes, working conditions in schools have declined. Educators are making sure school leaders and lawmakers are paying attention.

Integrated Services Paraprofessionals are an essential part our schools. Their efforts make class accessible for students and support teachers to meet the needs of every child. They deserve a special shout out and a dignified wage. Thank you for ensuring every student can access the best school environment with your specialized supports! 🤍

PSD staff have been introduced to several new initiatives and changes already this year. PEA has been asking PSD to address workload issues for years and we don’t think this is the way to do it.

It’s time to start listening to educators who are buried under their workload.
