Hands across the sand Mendocino We are meeting at 11am, if you choose to, you may then participate in the beach clean up. We Join hands along the beach at NOON for 15 minutes.

What to do at Your Event on August 4---


STEP 1
Go to the beach at 11 AM in your time zone for one hour, rain or shine. STEP 2
Join hands for 15 minutes at 12:00 PM in your time zone forming lines in the sand against oil drilling in your coastal waters. Yes to clean energy. STEP 3
Leave only your footprints.

-Use only approved beach accesses and parking.

-Create as long a line or

as many lines as you wish.

-Be courteous and respectful to those who disagree with your view.

-Please steer clear of bird nesting areas (refer to Audubon’s recommendations).

-Please steer clear of sea turtle nesting areas (visit Sea Turtle Oversight Protection for more information).

-Please respect any flora and fauna during your event and leave nothing but footprints.

ILL OMEN? Shell is off to a rough start as it journeys upwards to begin drilling in the Arctic waters. Its drilling ship ran aground. "A Shell drilling ship DRIFTS near shore (looks more like grounds) at Dutch Harbor Alaska- after losing its mooring. "Shell can't keep its drill rig under control in a protected harbor, so what will happen when it faces 20 foot swells and sea ice while drilling in the Arctic?" Greenpeace asked.
