Internships at The Learning Garden

Internships at The Learning Garden Internship program for high school students to learn about sustainable agriculture. Funding for SeedTray2 was made possible by the U.S.

The Noyo Food Forest intern program has demonstrated an ability to increase student interest in agriculture. We engage students who have never been exposed to garden production, while expanding the curriculum for returning interns to include more advanced skills in production planning, propagation, soil development and water management. Previous interns have expressed interest in agricultural care

ers, farm business operations, and sustainable food systems, including pursuing further agriculture education at the university level. The knowledge gained by participating in the intern program results in an increased awareness and positive behavior in work ethic, healthy food consumption and sustainability. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service through grant AM170275030SC. Its contents are solely the responsibility of the author and do not necessarily represent the official views of the USDA. Winter 2018/18 intern stipend underwritten by The James G. Cummings Foundation.
