💜🪖April is the Month of the Military Child, a time to recognize the strength, resilience, and sacrifices of our amazing military kids. These children serve too—through frequent moves, new schools, long deployments, and time away from loved ones.

Here at Pack 58 on Fort Bliss, we are proud to support our military families and celebrate the incredible youth who make up our Scouting community.

In Cub Scouts, these kids find:
🏕️ Stability – a consistent program no matter where they go
🤝 Friendship – a place to quickly build connections and feel at home
🌟 Confidence – opportunities to grow, lead, and succeed
🇺🇸 Support – leaders and families who understand the military lifestyle
Scouting provides a sense of belonging and adventure during times of change—and we are honored to be part of their journey.

💜 Join us in “Purple Up” this month to show your support for military children everywhere—especially the incredible Scouts of Pack 58!

Hey Scout Families! ⛵️

Just a quick reminder—this week is a bye week (had to sneak in a sports reference 🤭), so there’s no meeting.

We’ll see everyone next week for our Raingutter Regatta! 🎉

Be sure to build your boats, bring them ready to race, and come out to enjoy all the fun and festivities!

Hey Leaders! 🏕️

Registration is now open for IOLS & BALOO Training at Camp Tyler Francis (Sunland Park, NM) on May 2–3—and spots are limited!

These are essential outdoor trainings that help you build the skills and confidence to lead safe, fun camping experiences for your Scouts.

👉 Why this matters:
Every Cub Scout overnight campout must have at least one BALOO-trained leader present
Having multiple trained leaders helps prevent canceled campouts
IOLS is required for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters to be considered fully trained

Current Cubmaster currently hold both BALOO and IOLS, but since I’ll be stepping away, this is a great opportunity for others to get trained and keep your unit camping strong next year.

👉 Register here:

Let’s make sure every unit is ready for a successful camping season! 🌲🔥

This past Sunday, our Cub Scouts proudly rolled up their sleeves and made a real difference during the “Scouts Trash The Trash Day” Community Clean-Up here on post Fort Bliss 1st Armored Division ♻️

From picking up litter to working together as a team, these young Scouts showed what it truly means to care for their community and environment. Initiatives like this are more than just a day of service—they help build responsibility, leadership, and respect for the world around us.

⚜️In Scouting, we teach our youth that even small actions can make a big impact. By taking pride in where we live and giving back, our Cub Scouts are growing into thoughtful, capable leaders who understand the importance of stewardship and service.

We are so proud of their hard work, positive attitudes, and commitment to making a difference! 🌎💪

Want your child to be part of something meaningful? Join Scouting and watch them grow into confident, community-minded role models.

🚨🚔We were honored to recieve a visit from members of the incredible Fort Bliss Military Police to our Cub Scout meeting!

🇺🇸Their visit gave our Scouts a firsthand look at what it means to serve with integrity, courage, and dedication. From learning about safety and responsibility to seeing the professionalism of our military in action, the experience left a lasting impression on every Scout in attendance.

⚜️What stood out most was how closely their service reflects the core values of Scouting—duty to others, respect, leadership, and doing the right thing even when no one is watching. These are the same principles we strive to instill in our youth every day.

👮🏽👮🏼‍♂️Thank you to the men and women of the Ft. Bliss Military Police for taking the time to invest in our Scouts and inspire the next generation of leaders. Your commitment to protecting and serving our community does not go unnoticed 🇺🇸

Fantastic opportunity for scouts planing to work on the Liberty in Action 250th Liberty Challenge; this would satisfy the "Founding Era Site Visit" 🇺🇸🔔.

Don't know the Liberty Challenge? Let's explore it ...

The Liberty in Action: 250th Anniversary Challenge brings together Scouts from all programs to explore America’s founding principles, connect Scouting’s long tradition of civic service to our national story, and take meaningful action in their communities. Running from March 2026 through February 2027, this program blends learning, creativity, service, and reflection — offering Scouts, leaders, and families a powerful way to participate in America’s semiquincentennial.

This past weekend, in 95-degree heat, one of our youth Troop Scouts accomplished something truly extraordinary—completing the Bataan Memorial Death March. 💪🇺🇸

This incredible young man is not only a dedicated Troop Scout, but also serves as a Den Chief for our young Cub Scouts—mentoring younger youth, leading by example, and showing what it means to live the values of Scouting every single day. High Desert Council, Scouting America This young man's Great-Uncle Wilbur Curry, Jr was a prisoner of war in Vietnam and never made it home; He wore an "In Honor & Memory" with his family members photo on his backpack.

⚜️Moments like this remind us of the powerful impact Scouting has on young people. It gives them the confidence to dream big, the courage to push past limits, and the mental strength and resilience to keep going when things get tough. What may seem impossible becomes achievable through determination, leadership, and the support of a strong community.

Scouting doesn’t just build skills—it shapes character, creates leaders, and inspires the next generation to rise to challenges with grit and purpose. Scouting America

📣If you’re a parent looking for an opportunity to help your child grow into a confident, capable role model, Scouting is the place to start. Come see what your child is capable of—you might be amazed.
