Road & Ferry Update

The Carter Ferry and Virgelle Ferry are both currently open.

Upper Highwood Creek Road is also open, including access toward Thain Creek Campground. However, the area over the new culvert is currently single-lane and a little rough, so please use caution, slow down, and watch for oncoming traffic.

Road & Ferry Closure Notice

Due to the recent rain and current road conditions, the Carter Ferry and Virgelle Ferry will be closed for the time being.

Additionally, Upper Highwood Creek Road is closed past 12762 Upper Highwood Creek Road, which means there is currently no access to Thain Creek Campground from that point.

Please use caution when traveling, avoid flooded or soft road areas, and do not attempt to drive around closure signs or barricades. Updates will be shared as conditions change.
