The camp is the perfect place for in camp activities and can also be used as a base camp while exploring the local area. Had a snow day today?? Well here's some fun trivia from the Twin Rivers Council Properties staff!

-50 miles, the length of a week long adirondack backpacking trek adventure.

-50 miles, the distance between Camp Wakpominee and Albany.

-50 miles, the average distance traveled while plowing a Twin Rivers Council Camp property... once.

-During a long duration storm, or during heavy accumulation, a Twin Rivers Council Ranger may do 2, or 3 or more complete routes through camp to keep roads and parking lots open; ensuring they remain available for guests and programs throughout the winter months.

-Rangers have to keep on top of accumulation, before it freezes in place, preventing it from being cleared until it melts in spring. Need a parking lot in February for an event? Well, it needs to be plowed every time it snows before the event— even if it won't be used until February or March!

-Twin Rivers Council Rangers have already clocked several hundred miles of plowing since yesterday afternoon. And will continue to do so until it stops snowing.

While you as a scout may only see the Twin Rivers Council Rangers on your weekend trips to camp, they work all week long to make sure camp is ready when you arrive on Friday.

Rangers are here to serve and will continue to
keep our facilities open and in safe working order for our programs all year long— no matter how much snow comes!

Enjoy the rest of your snow day ❄️

Yours in Scouting,
The Twin Rivers Council Properties staff
