Character Development:
In the outdoors, Scouts have opportunities to acquire skills that make them more self-reliant. They can explore canoe and hiking trails and complete challenges they first thought were beyond their ability. Thank you Troop 546 for cleaning up Highway 160 today (June 25. 2021) and assisting at Forsyth First Baptist Church.

Service is one of the most important values we have in Scouting. The Scout Oath calls on us all to “help other people at all times.” The Scout Law says a Scout is Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind. These are maybe the most important ideas a young person takes away from their time in our program, no matter how long they’re with us. From Scouting.org, “Outdoor adventure is the promise made to young people when they join Scouting.” The outdoors promotes the aims of Scouting: Character Development, Citizenship, Personal Fitness, and Leadership.

Troop 546 took advantage of the outdoor program at Bench Trail/Antenna Pines, Ponca Wilderness this weekend. Who wants to go on the next backpacking trip?!
